Hi.

Hola. :wave2:

Hello.

Wat up? :confused3

How's it Going?

Anything new on your end?

I mean in your neck of the woods so to speak, not actually your end.

Unless you may have gotten a tattoo. :scared1:

Then by all means please do tell. :surfweb:

Picture are welcome also of your end with a tattoo... :3dglasses

as long as that end is connected to a body that resembles Shemar Moore :thumbsup2 and not Dudley Moore. :scared:

Notice the difference:

Anywho, I digress and need to remember where this was all heading...

Oh yeah...Which way do we go George? Which way do we go?

You see this sums up this PTR perfectly.

Encase you are younger than a Cabbage Patch Doll, the originals, not the, squeaky clean refurbished ones of recent years, I will link the cartoon this classic line (albeit altered slightly)is from.

So which way DO we go?

You see this spring break is unique for us. I have three children who usually travel in a pack and now, that pack is down to a solo kid.

Treyner, my oldest, Sophomore in college, is off to Playa del Carmen, with his girlfriend and her family.

Carsyn, the daughter who is a senior in high school, is heading to Jamaica with 5 girlfriends and a set of parents.

So that just leaves Baylor. Freshman in high school and soon the lone wolf of the house. Braces off recently and ready to have some fun!

Baylor.jpg

Originally Baylor's Dad was going to do something with him but plans changed and he is going to KC in April for a family reunion with Baylor and Carsyn.

This meant we could do something with Baylor. But what do we do?

I have been a DVC member for 10 plus years now so WDW is a yearly thing for the kids but there was also the want of going somewhere new and or a BEACH! :beach:

We live in Minnesnowta and I am sick of the cold (a balmy -30 windchill this morning) and snow.

Here were some of our options:

#1 We have friends coming in from Ireland to Austin, TX for a music concert week the same time we have spring break but they would be mostly busy with concerts and it was not something we wanted to spend a ton of money on.

#2 We thought about South Padre and hitting up some sights on the way back but according to everyone...the same time we would be off, so is Texas and the beaches are jam packed with College Spring Breakers who are a bit more wild than what I want Baylor around.

Or me for that matter! :teacher:

Lying in the sun while dodging beer bongs :drinking1 and vomit  is not my idea of relaxing.

#3 We then contemplated WDW plus throwing in the gulf in Alabama and a short stay in New Orleans. Problem with that was fear over cool weather in the upper Gulf area that time of year. We also thought it would be a great destination for the whole family the next time we could get away. None of us have been to New Orleans.

#4 So...that brought us full circle back to WDW and the beach.

Baylor asked if we could not go back to Key West again this year.

He is a smart boy. Jet ski rentals, boat rentals, etc.... will all be so much cheaper since we only have one child with to suck the life out of us.

I mean thoroughly enjoy on vacation. :rolleyes1

So I scoured and found us a great deal!

A 2 bedroom small house on a canal in Marathon Key, for less than an All Star during peak season. :woohoo::yay: We can have a kitchen and save money on food to spend elsewhere!!!

Originally we booked at AS movies but opted for a stay again at POFQ.

That happened this morning due to a nice pin code!! :cheer2:

We are infamous road trippers but...

with only three of us, it is not much more expensive to fly at all. Especially with current gas prices going up and it would mean putting a ton of miles on a car Carsyn will be taking to college. Renting a car from here was ridiculously expensive as well.

So we are flying...

Into Atlanta.

That's right Atlanta again!

Why you ask?

Because Orlando wants my money and yours and your neighbors, to even cross into their flight patterns over spring break.

So we will fly into Atlanta on the evening of March 9th. Head down to Florida and check in to our hotel room early on the 10th...if at all possible! :worship: I have heard of some people checking in as early as 3 a.m. for that days check in if they have rooms available.

If not, we can crash in the car like homeless people. :snooty: Baylor will have slept the whole way anyway in the backseat.

Then we will spend 4 night at POFQ on the dining plan.

Yes I already have ressies! :dance3:

Up next will be to leave the morning of the 14th for a 5 day stay in the Keys and returning back to WDW for the nights of the 19th & 20th.

Leaving really early the 21st to hit the road for the airport since our plane leaves at 10:30 from Atlanta home.

Or we may change plans and leave the 20th at night...staying at a airport hotel.

Not sure of that little factor yet.

I do know I am psyched to be heading out the door with Dan again.

This would be me & Dan for those of you out of the loop.

Lying in the sun while dodging beer bongs :drinking1 and vomit  is not my idea of relaxing.

You just described my entire freshman year at college.

Yea for another DD PTR! I swear, if it weren't for you my "Subscribed Threads" list would be practically empty.

:surfweb:

That sounds like a fantastic plan! I really want to see more of Florida - and the Keys especially - my next trip. I look forward to hearing about the whole thing, as always. ;)

OOH OOH!! Look at me!! First page!!
I've been away from the boards the last few days and am just getting caught up!
Great luck I have to see your link within two hours of you posting it!!
I can't wait to read and follow your plans!
Okay, now that I've actually read your intro:
We will be crossing paths going opposite directions!! We are driving and arriving at WDW on 3/9, but leaving right away on the 10th for the cruise, then back to WDW on the 13th, and you'll be off to the Keys!! Crazy. Sounds like an awesome trip though!! I will be sure to keep an eye out for you around WDW on the 13th and holler at you like crazy if I see you, Dan or Baylor!! HA!

Whoo Hoooo A Dawn PTR!!! We will overlap by a few days!! Can't wait to read all your plans and see if we will be in the same place at the same time!!

*gasp* I'm posting on the first page of a Dizneydawn PTR? NO WAY!!! :woohoo:

Can't wait to see what this trip will be eventually titled. ;)

Take me with you????? I'm travel-sized. Seriously.

Can't wait to follow along. Your TRs get me through the boring classes and endless recipe conversions. Have I mentioned how much I hate those? 'Cause I do. Just sayin.

You just described my entire freshman year at college.
That cracks me up! My Freshman year spring break was spent visiting friends in Thunder Bay, Ontario and my Sophmore year Spring Break was spent as a Mom to a 3 month old! In fact I did not get to head anywhere warm until two years later, March of 1993 when I was pregnant with Carsyn and we drove to Florida and did MK, Epcot and Sea World.

Got any pics of you so I can live what I missed out on?? :confused3 :rotfl:

Yea for another DD PTR! I swear, if it weren't for you my "Subscribed Threads" list would be practically empty.

Maybe I should start charging...or paying you for reading! LOL ;)

You have to go to The Keys. Amazing and so beautiful and laid back!!

I really wonder about driving down still ourselves but airfare to and from ATL is running pretty great rates and the difference is in about $400 from driving. Because we are going to The Keys, it only cuts our driving to 1/2 actually!

8 hours from ATL to WDW and then 6 hours to Marathon. Roughly 30 hours driving round trip vs 60 from Minneapolis.

We will be driving to SC at least once this summer, probably twice and that will be with The Booger, so really expensive. Carsyn's car is able to be used but the back seat has no leg room for Baylor for such a long trip in one stretch and rentals from here were running more with gas then flying and renting. Who knows. Buying tickets on Friday so pray for a miracle to MCO!

Awesome, maybe we can say hi!!:cool1:
Can't wait to see what this trip will be eventually titled. ;)
Me too!!
I'm here! Hope I'm not late!
You are never late!!
Joining in for all the fun.
Thanks for coming along!

I just realized we posted at the exact same time. That's kinda cool. And will probably never ever happen again.

WootWoot!! Hoppin' on the crazy train!! :woohoo: Not that you're crazy in a bad way....but crazy in a good way :upsidedow You're crazy funny! And crazy things always happen to you  Anyway, I'm joining in

Subscribing! I was reading your trip report and saw the link for this PTR. Girl you crack me up!:lmao:Can't wait to hear about your latest adventure!:yay:

Yeah!!!!! I had my fingers crossed that you would go the Disney route. We would love to meet up with you guys at some point...we arrive on the 18th and staying at BLT. What is Baylor going to do without his sibs? :confused3You now have an only child!

Airfare was horrendous. We originally had a cruise booked out of Miami for spring break. We cancelled....$2400 for 3 people out of St. Louis, and then the cruise fare on top of that. Good ol Disney it will be instead. But I paid the most I have ever paid to MCO. Oy vey....

Not sure exactly where in MN you live, but is driving to Chicago and flying from there totally out of the question? RT for the 3 of you is $860 total...wow! Out of Milwaukee is $1083, both on Southwest. And no baggage fees. Plus, you can take ME to your resort and then rent a car from the TTC and also drop off on your way back cutting down on car rental. I'm in the planning mode right now because we have some friends wanting to come down for part of our stay and I'm trying every which way to get the lowest fare.

Your TRs get me through the boring classes and endless recipe conversions. Have I mentioned how much I hate those?
Tell me again what you are doing these conversions for? I for the life of me cannot remember!
I just realized we posted at the exact same time. That's kinda cool. And will probably never ever happen again.
Saw the same thing too! :lovestruc
And crazy things always happen to you  Anyway, I'm joining in
So is it evil or intriguing you wait for the ball to drop??? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Hi and Welcome!!!
Wow! I made it on the first page! I usually come in a year or two too late. :lmao:
I am usually a year or two late in most things in my life!!! :rotfl:
Airfare was horrendous. We originally had a cruise booked out of Miami for spring break. We cancelled....$2400 for 3 people out of St. Louis, and then the cruise fare on top of that.
That is crazy!!!!!!!

Chicago is 8 hours for us so same as ATL to WDW so actually would not cut down on gas. Then we would have to park the car somewhere and pay to park or go a day early to stay at a hotel for a free park n fly. Baylor can only miss 3 days of school. I was hoping for 2. So with the airfare I am looking at we would fly out at 4:20 p.m. - which means he would only miss 15 minutes of school on WED the 9th and then we arrive on Monday the 21st at 10:30 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. If we arrive on the earlier one, he can be at school before noon for sure on Monday and only miss 2 1/2 days.
The flights for us are only $688 to ATL and gas to and from ATL to WDW at a car getting 32 mpg will cost maybe $100 at most. We are hoping for a Priceline name your own price, rental for cheap like last time - under $200 for the 2 weeks. Atlanta is not the hot spot for spring breakers so I think it still gets good airfare and car rental prices. Plus it is a huge airport so a ton of flights to choose from.

Yay another report  and I've managed to join in near the begiining.

You totally are at the start! We haven't left yet!! :cutie:

Hi!
Followed you over here with the link you provided on your TR! I wouldn't miss this one either! Can't wait!

Argh!! We just might fly into MCO after all. Dan has a one way free airline ticket on Frontier so if he flew separate of us down, we could be at the same cost as flying into ATL....will need to evaluate all again!
