Hi -
Just wondering what water park would be best for a 5 year old girl? This would be our first time at a water park at Disney. Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
ADP :goodvibes

When are you going? TL will not re-open until the 12th of March (I think that date is correct. Might be a day off or so!) We like both parks but TL has an awesome wave pool that may be "too much" for a 5 y.o.

We have a 5 yr. old dd as well and we lean more towards TL. We've done both, but TL seems more family oriented. BB seemed geared more toward older kids and teens to us. We'll be back in May to try the new Slush n' Gusher water coaster too.

The theme alone is more fun for the young set. The kiddie area is large, off the main path and full of slides and other fun.....right across the bridge is the Beach Patrol for the kids and there will be things for her to do there as well.

My DD 9 has preferred TL since she was 5. Now that she is getting older she is starting to lean a little towards BB.

My 5yo really loves TL. We have not yet tried BB. She's not a good swimmer, so the kiddie area is great for her. She really loved the kiddie lazy river.

We did both, mine liked BB kids area better but at TL they swam with the sharks and this is what my 3yo talks about DAILY.

I vote TL - I haven't been to Blizzard Beach with my boys (9,6,4) because it seems to be more for the older kids.... :confused3

Have a great time!

BB isn't really just for the older set, I even think they have done a much better job here of addressing the younger set. The kiddie area is bigger, has some nice kiddie slides and more set aside than TL & private, the TL kiddie area was expanded in the same spot as it's original location. The ski patrol area at BB was a great idea for the in between set. I would say most of the kids there are between 5 and 10 years old. My younger one at 8 was riding most the big slides, and I have one who can not do big slides for medical reasons and still had plenty of gentle slides to do. Lazy rivers the same and the wave pool is so gentle.

We do love TL too, but I think sometimes BB gets a bad rep as being the wild-side park. I think it is very kid oriented especially the theme. Here's some photos...
