Of the six SW movies that were made, which is your favorite?

I vote for the Return of the Jedi. In my opinion that was by far the best of the lot.
My list of best to worst would be:

Return of the Jedi
Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars (original)
Revenge of the Sith
Attack of the Clones
Phantom Menace

The first 3 in general, but I would have to say the first one Ep IV. as for Phantom menance I thought that was a huge debacle/joke in my opinion. He almost ruined the franchise with that. The last 2 were decent. But I wondered why he never picked any actors that could act, and the ones he did he directed the acting out of them. To me the acting in the final 3 movies was terrible. The old school style of special effects in the older ones I thought in many cases was better as well. Not so much the very last one, but I thought PMenance looked almost like a bad video game on the SEffects.

That's exactly how I would list them. IMO Jedi has it's flaws (Ewoks) but the rest of the movie is so good I can get past them. I love the how the end works with the different missions and the final conflict in the throne room.

Many people conisder Empire #1 and it's hard to say they are wrong. I give the edge to Jedi only because Empire, outside the "father" deal, never really goes anywhere.

I love A New Hope, Empire & Return of the Jedi, but regarding the prequel trilogy, Ewan McGregor really did an outstanding impersonation of Alec Guiness in his role as Obi Wan. He was the highlight of the newer trilogy. Anakin stank. Amidala/Padme stank (sorry, Natalie Portman fans).

My favorite was the original because it was so NEW. I had never seen anything like it before and it captivated me. Nothing can compare to a film taking you somewhere you've never been before and totally getting you lost for 2 hours.

Agree, thats my point, but I even though Ewan, although not terrible, was not outstanding as that role should have been.

Can anyone not think of Jar Jar Binks and not laugh and think WTH was he doing with that? "Meessa thinks that suckas much much."

I honestly can't decide. I LOVE Ewan to begin with, so I like to watch those movies just for him. But the stories of the first (last?) three movies were better.

I loveAmidala/Padme stank (sorry, Natalie Portman fans).

I think she did an awesome job given the scripts she was given and the director she had. Kind of the opposite of guy who played Anakin, who was actually given some great lines/scenes in II and III.

IMO the one constant rock in all three movies was the guy who played the Emporer. Each one of scenes were great because he really nailed the part. Probably why I like Jedi the best. He gets a lot of screen time and great lines.

Jar Jar was a complete debacle, and there were other ethnic stereotypes I found pretty offensive in that Episode 1 (Italians and Chinese took quite a hit as well, courtesy of Mr. Lucas!)

Point taken that Ewan was not as great as he could have been. I just think the one standout for me regarding the newer movies was his protrayal of Alec Guiness as Obi Wan. I think he did a dead-on impersonation. Could the acting have been better? Probably. Could the scripts have been better? I'm certain. Who gave a carp about young Anakin in the first movie, anyway?

Yeah, what he said!

It was awesome back in the day! We saw it 14 times in the theater!
Nothing like it! Even though now it can seem a bit outdated, none of the other movies has touched it for it's originality or draw of loyal fans.

As for the last two movies.... :sad2:
Why, oh why, did he cast Christian...
He stunk so bad it made the rest of the movie stink!
If that role had been well done the others may have been okay, how do you play against that!

And forgive me but how could they turn sweet Anakin into Darth for such ridiculously petty reasons... the last movie ruined the whole series for me.
I choose to ignore it's existence!

OMG I was going to post this EXACT poll (except I have never posted a poll before and was nervous).

I love love LOVE the original Star Wars. I saw it in the theater easily 20 times with my dad. I never saw Empire and Return until they were rereleased in theaters before Episode 1 came out. :guilty: We just watched Phantom Mennace Saturday night as my son is TOTALLY getting into all thing Star Wars rigiht now! :) We remembered it being so horrible in the theater but it was not so bad this time. Looking foward to Episode II and III and then watching IV popcorn:: :yay:

Young Anakin should have been a short part of the first movie so we could get to more of the turning. I can only imagine how much better the new trilogy could have been if the limited the young Anakin story to the podracing to show us his skills and to them deciding to train him as a Jedi.

Empire is my favorite by far

I really did not like the parts of the new trilogy that showed Anakin as a whiny teenager throwing temper tantrums. Really not the most intimidating thing for the man who will be feared in the future.

I just really hope that George keeps his pen off the new Indy script so that movie will have a prayer!

I love all three of the "original" trilogy. My favorite is Return of the Jedi because as a 10 year old when it came out, I thought the Ewoks were the cutest things ever. It is still the one that holds such a special place in my heart. As for the 2nd trilogy, Attack of the Clones was my favorite.

Star Wars (my fave movie, period)
Return of the Jedi
Empire Strikes Back
Attack of the Clones
Revenge of the Sith
Phantom Menace
