which waitlist most chance

hi, i'd like to add two more nights to our stay (20-22 october 2012) but seems like everything would be waitlist; since we are indifferent between AK (savannah view; kidani), VWL (any view), and BLT (lake view) I wanted to ask your advice on which of these 3 you think has the highest likelihood of coming through. For all 3 we're looking for a studio.

Honestly, none of them stand a great chance. There are a limited number of savannah view rooms, BLT will be popular, but expecially the lower point rooms (lake view) and VWL isn't a massive resort and somewhat popular. I think that VWL or the Savannah view would be the most likely.

I would recommend waitlisting whichever you prefer the most and doing a second waitlist for either non savannah view Kidani or somewhere like SSR. At least that way you can get guaranteed a room somewhere.

I recently booked a studio for those dates. I did not want Kidani Savannah view but do think it was available. I never saw VWL or BLT lakeview fully open then so I'd give greatest odds to Kidani, then VWL and lastly BLT.

Did you book SSR to guarantee you'll have a room?

yip, i did book SSR already to be sure of at least a room and i waitlisted both AK as BLT. Actually for both of them I could still book the second night (at least for a one bedroom villa), but not the first and I don't want to be checking in, checking out 3 times. Are there much more 1 bedroom villas than studios available?

Both Kidani and BLT have the same number of studios as 1BR's since there are no dedicated of either type - they are all made up of 2BR lockoffs. VWL has a few more 1BR's than studios because it does have both dedicated studios and 1BR's and the 1Br's are in greater quantity.

In general 1BR's are slower to book probably because most of them have the same occupancy but are often double the points, although that doesn't apply to BLT and AKV which sleep 5 in the 1BR.

Once you set up your wait lists, be sure to continue to check the online availability for what you're looking for because there have been numerous reports of people finding what they want online and booking it before the system matches any rooms on the wait list.

With a wait list, I've always had more luck with VWL. I have no idea why and have not analyzed it to death, but it's happened twice with me thus far.

For that time I'd think VWL and AKV savannah roughly the same chance. You'll reduce your chances greatly if you put BLT in the mix. 1 BR will likely give you the biggest chance of success.

Jambo house has dedicated studios, no dedicated 1BR's and 2 BR lockoffs.
Kidani has 2 BR lockoffs and dedicated 2BR's but no dedicated studios or 1BR's.
