Which Villains at Halloween?

I'm visiting Disneyland this Oct flying straight from WDW.

We are going to the Halloween party at the Magic Kingdom. I know the Villain mingle is quite short at the party there and we considered going twice to get all the villains.

Since we're also going to the Disneyland Halloween party on two nights, I was wondering if we have a better chance meeting villains such as Maleficent, Jafar, etc. there? This may save us going to the WDW party twice.

Thanks guys!

We have gone for the past three years. We always see jafar, the Evil Queen, Maleficent, Cruella DeVille, Captain Hook and the Queen of Hearts. We also saw Frollo, Lady Tremain, and Cinderellas wicked step sisters last year. The villains will rotate out every so often and they are so fun to interact with!

We met :

Cruella
Maleficient
Frollo
The Tremaines (Mother and daughters)
Jafar
Evil Queen
Dr Facilier
Lotso
Queen of Hearts

The best thing is to stick around the entrance (Train Station).

We have seen and met most of the charters the PP listed and would also like to add

The Fox from Pinocchio
Storm Troopers

Are there multiple villians at that location at the same time?

From my experience , yes.

There are a few meet and greet stations when you first enter Main Street. Also other locations set up through out the park. You can also dance with them during MHP.

They are a lot of fun!

Man I can't wait to go to DL during Halloween, must be a blast!! aside from my username and all, I'd wish they'd bring out some of the older villains (like Ratigan), though I do understand why they have certain villains and not others...

Last year, 4 different spots around the Flag Pole, Vilains changing every 45 minutes if I'm correct.

Is it better to try to visit the villains right when the party starts (I would imagine Main Street would be packed then with everyone entering the party) or should we wait a couple hours?

Meeting the Vilains will be crowdy during the entire party. A good option is to go a bit before the parade and the fireworks started, as people are waiting for entertainment instead of waiting to meet characters.

We actually found the end of the party to be the best time. They were all rotating through and had very little to no line. This was a Friday night party - Main Street by the flag pole.

Agreed. This is where we met them last year and we had almost no line. We were probably there in the last hour of the party.
In previous years, when they were set up by IASW we would meet them at the beginning of the party. We much prefer the main st. set up!

We also ran into villains at a m&g by IASW. (During the day, not during the party)

We also met Sheriff of Nottingham and Evil Queen, Captain Hook, Honest John (from Pinocchio) and Queen of Hearts.

The daytime IASW photo spot ended after 2011.

In 2012, the access to Villains was much more limited. Instead, you could "conjure up" one Villain at a time (whoever was on duty at the moment, I suppose, out of Captain Hook, Cruella, the Evil Queen and a couple of other choices) at the Halloween Carnival (a.k.a. Round-Up). But at the MHP, the Villains were out in full force.

This year I expect to see a lot of Villains on Friday, September 13th for the Unleash the Villains event. Beyond that, I think the "conjure up" one at a time thing in the daytime will be in effect all season long, and the bulk of the Villains will be out at the actual parties.

Last year, 2012 when we arrived there was a short wait in the Main Street area ... About 10 minutes. It seems like the crowds happened in waves.

In 2011 there was 3 villains out at time in the ISWA area which had a 30 minute wait. In 2012 that area was occupied by the princess since Fantasy Faire was under construction, the Princesses were out during the party too with a pumpkin back ground. I am hoping the villains will be back 3 at a time this year since the princesses have their new home now.

You will see villains through out the night at the parties, dancing with the guest and different areas through out the park. I personally like to do the meet and greets early since I am afraid I may miss one later in the evening.

I don't think the Villains will be back out at any kind of daytime photo spot, other than the conjure-up-one-Villain-at-a-time tent at the Halloween Carnival, and the September 13th Limited Time Magic thing. Disney could have set them up somewhere else last year and didn't. I think Disney wants to draw more people to that Carnival -- which is also why they forced all of the other costume-wearing characters out of Town Square and over to the Carnival too.

Plus, if they keep the Villains more exclusive, then the September 13th Villains event packs more punch, and people have more reason to buy MHP tickets. If they put out a regular daily photo spot for the Villains again, it takes away some of their mystery.

I'd prefer to have the daytime Villains photo spot, but I just have a feeling Disney is trying to make them less accessible so they can milk that gimmick!
