Hi Everyone, I hope you can help me out. My boyfriend and I are taking a trip to Dis and we are going to stay at the All Stars or Pop Century. My question is please help us decide which resort would be best suited for us. My boyfriend is a very light sleeper and has gotten cranky when we have stayed at the Carribean Beach with the Cheerleaders, so which do you think might be the quietest option for us? We usually stay at the moderates, but have to cut back this time so any info you can give us would be greatly appreciated. Food is not an issue and neither is transportation. We are renting a car. Thanks so much! Robin

Hi Robin and welcome to the boards!! My dd and I stayed at AllStarMusic in Dec with the cheerleaders/popwarner kids and found it to be very nice. But, we were in the back of the bldg. and on the third floor. So, I would make the request at the time of booking for a higher level room away from the pool area. I would imagine that the bldgs. that are the farthest from the food court would be the quietest. I have to say that our stay in Dec was the quietest of all our visits, and we have stayed at POR and Polynesian!!!

Hi, Thanks for responding! I was hoping someone would recommend the Music because my boyfriend is a musician and I work for the industry and Movies is sold out for our stay already. I think the Music it is!

We stayed at music in 2001, but we had my 3 1/2 year old. But the resort was still nice and we liked the Theming. We are going back just my wife and I and considered Music, but POP was just calling for us to try it :sunny: Hope you have a great trip.

We have stayed in Music, Movies, and Pop Century. I really don't think it matter which resort you stay in, you always run the chance of having noisy people by you. We stayed in Music in the Calypso Building. We were on the 3rd floor on the side facing the courtyard, not the pool. It might have even been a parking lot, but there were trees before it. Anyway, that was perfectly quiet. I do remember a time or two having someone run by our room. We've lucked out with all of our stays and not had noisy people next to us.

Pop Century was fun. We really liked it. My step dad mentioned that it would be nice if they would start the music a little later in the morning. I don't remember hearing it, but we were up by 7 or 7:30 every morning, and it must have been playing before then.

When we stayed at Movies, we were in Dalmatians on the 1st floor on the back side. That also was really quiet. Again, we did hear people walking by our room. I dont' think people realize how loud they are.

As far as being a couple and where you'd fit in, I don't think it'd matter. I didn't really pay attention to the people around me. I couldn't tell you if I saw any couples at Pop Century at all. Half of the time we were just a couple because my parents had my children.

I think Pop is definitely more adult friendly than any of the All Stars. The whole place seems quieter, the food court is nicer, and there's even an indoor lounge! :teeth: Plus, the lake behind the resort is a nice place for a romantic stroll.

If you have your heart set on All Stars, Music is probably the best for couples, but I would never choose that again over Pop, having stayed at both.

Not sure of your dates, but do share your pain. We visit often, just the 2 of us, and when I made my reservations for the first week of May at the Movies, I didn't think twice about it. Well later I kept being told my Disney management types that after Pop openned, it was going to be where the families are being stored and Disney will start trying to keep the groups in the All Stars. We switched over to Pop after that, especially since there are often alot of groups in the spring--Music days and grad activities. While we have never had a problem with these talented young people, we just didn't want to be out numbered. We are hoping to ask for a quiet section of Pop, with walking not being an issue for us.

n2mm: If I were to go again, I would request a room that is facing the lake in the 70's buildings. It was beautiful to look at, not to far to walk to the main building, and it appeared to be quiet. Not sure if you already have an area in mind, but that is my suggestion.

Thank you Madi100, I will write that down. We were in WDW about a week ago...sad face....and drove over to Pop to get a feel for it. We were hoping for suggestions for a quiet area and hoping not to have too difficult a time in regard to the parking problems. The only thing we have requested is guaranteed non-smoking and a king bed (non-hc).

Hi Robin.....Stayed at "Music" this past week. Not bothered at all by noise, but something I've done in the past at other hotels may be an idea you may want to consider. If you don't already have one, get an inexpensive sound machine.....preferably one that has "white noise" to drown out anything from outside. Place it on night stand and turn it up. It's kind of like a little "insurance" for "just in case"! Hope you have a ball!!!! By the way, this stay was my first ever at DW and I only live 30 minutes away! Definitely planning more.....many more, trips back to stay over night.
