Which transportation would you use?

We will be staying at the Grovsenor for 3 nts and Royal Plaza for 4 nts. We are planning on driving our family of four down. Me, DW, DD (11), DS (9). Should we use the transportation provided or just use our SUV? Do we still get to park for free in the lots with these being official WDW hotels? Thanks for all input.

as soon as you get to WDW I would unload the SUV and not step foot in it til you have to leave or wanting to go somewhere off property! Relax and have fun! The WDW transportation is so good you do not need to mess with a vehicle. JMHO!

I'm not 100% sure if the DTD hotels have free parking inside WDW or not but as far as the shuttles go, it probably would be best to check their daily schedules to all the parks to see how often they run especially if you will not anticipate staying until closing and want an early return as different properties have varying pick up/return times. So, if the bus times do not really coincide with your planned time spent in the parks (meaning you might want to leave anytime beforehand), driving yourself can actually work out better. Hope this helps some.:D

I just returned from a stay at the Grosvenor. The bus service was great. It picked up around the hour & half hour at the hotel and on the quarter hours at the parks (unless I have that backwards!). The bus to & from the Animal Kingdom runs every 30 minutes in the morning (& maybe at park closing) but goes to every hour later in the morning.

I don't know about the parking. I've stayed at the Grosvenor twice and I didn't have my car this time and last time I didn't move my car except when we went to Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner.
