Which summer week in 2018?

I teach preschool, and my youngest is in college. None of his breaks line up with mine. So, pretty much the only time we can go on vacation is the summer.

I'm done teaching Memorial Day weekend, and he needs to be back at school on August 24th (so, we'd need to be home at least a few days before that to pack up and get him there).

Which weeks in there have lower crowds and less rain compared to the others? I know that none of the time will be low crowds. We've gone at the end of August before, so I know about the heat.

I've seen rumors that Toy Story Land may open late May-early June. So, would it be better to go the first two weeks of August?

If you want to experience TSL, then I would probably wait until August just to give Disney time for any last minute challenges. However, it will be crazy crowded at HS once it does open. If you'd rather miss that, then I would go as soon as you're done teaching.

We went last summer 6/10-18. Crowds weren't too bad and the weather was great! It did rain every day in the afternoon but it didn't interfere with what we were doing.

We've been as early as mid-June and as late as Labor Day. My answer is that it really and truly doesn't matter which week you pick. The weather is very similar in June as it is in August. Doesn't rain daily...it's hit or miss t-storms. Sometimes you'll get them 5 days in a row...sometimes you won't get one for 5 days...sometimes it's pouring in Epcot but sunny in AK at the same time.

Crowds...it's summer, it's crowded. 4th of July week is more crowded than others, but even that isn't a big deal.

Biggest thing to note about summer is dealing with the South American tour groups...AKA "the 15s"...during July. That's when they go.

I actually think the last 2 summers June has been more crowded than July/August. 2016 we went the week of July 8 and we couldn't believe how fantastic the crowds were. Aside from the heat, it was a great trip.

Thanks! I'm leaning towards August mostly because I'd like something big to end the summer with. I'll see what the rest of the family thinks.
