Hi Guys, Newbie here!
We are off to a california road trip on the 21st of august and will be stopping at disney for 3 days , now i have been to WDW many of times but disneyland is a whole other boat!!
We have decided on WOC for the first night and have booked a dinner package for it but my question is how on earth do i decide what other parades and shows to make time for? We will only have 1 full day in each park ( and an extra evening in DCA for WOC) So we will probaly only have time for one show/parade in each, so what are you reccomendations?!
Thanks a lot!! :)

Hi,

Welcome to the DISBoards!

That is a VERY difficult choice. There are SOOOOO many excellent entertainment offerings at DLR.

Aladdin, in DCA is absolutely fantastic! If I only got one show per Park, this would be my pick for DCA.

For DL, hmmm.... Fantasmic! is an amazing show. It is somewhat different than at WDW (some extra parts, some parts missing) and performed in a very different atmosphere. You may want to see that for comparison purposes. (If you had never been to any Disney Park, this would be my must see for DL.)

In terms of smaller shows, BIlly Hill and the Hillbillies is excellent.

And of course, DL fireworks cannot be beat.

There's a few ideas. HTH!

Thanks a lot! I do like the look of Aladin!

I was thinking about Fantasmic as i do LOVE it in WDW but i was thinking that maybe i should try something different that isn't at WDW like the fireworks? we wont be able to do both cause they are both showing at very similar times :(

Check the superthread for Fantasmic info. But I believe if there are 2 shows you can catch the fireworks then make it to the 2nd show. Or view the first Fantasmic with reserved dessert seating and then remain in your seats to see the Fireworks. Won't be the most ideal view, but enough to catch both.

We did both in on night, watched the fireworks, then booked the Fantasmic dessert package for the second show....now way we could have done both without the package.

Hope your planning is going great!

For DCA, Aladdin is a must see. It is unique to the Disneyland Resort and nothing from WDW really compares to it, even Finding Nemo. If you can make it work, try to see Aladdin and catch the Pixar Play Parade which is very colorful and funny.

For Disneyland, I would skip Fantasmic and try to have a better spot for the fireworks. As other said, it is possible to catch both in one night but if you only have one day to visit Disneyland, you might want to ride some attractions during entertainment for they are less people for those. Again, try to see the Mickey's Soundsational Parade. Nothing like a Disney Parade!

Do you have children?

So many characters in the daytime Soundsational parade.

But, even for myself, the Soundsational parade was my favorite of Fantasmic, WOC, and the daytime parade (we did not see Pixar Parade).
Soundsational is wonderful. My favorite. High energy, very happy. I never was a big daytime parade person until I saw this one.

You will enjoy anything you decide on!
