FOTLK it is, then! I was secretly leaning that way, now it's a lock. I do love the Nemo movie and will make the show a priority for our next trip. DD isn't interested in seeing either, but I know it's just 'cause she doesn't know what she's missing. LK may get her in the spirit! We're also planning on Rafiki's this year, and with only 1 day at AK I figured I'd just *force* one show on her this time. I'm SO excited to see it from the responses! Thanks!!!

Lion King!! What an amazing show! As much as I like Nemo the Character, that show seems a little long and drawn out for me.

I think they are both fantastic! I picked FOTLK though, because it is such a fun and energetic show! Nemo is equally good to me though. More of a broadway show. We see both everytime!

Lion King! We love Festival of the Lion King. Nemo was good, but when we went in January with our 13 month old & 4 year old, it was a little long and didn't keep their attention for long. We are headed back in a few weeks, my kids are now 5 and my daughter will turn 2 the day before our trip, we will probably skip Nemo, but we will definitely be seeing Lion King! They both are great shows, though!

I vote Lion King! Not only is it entertaining, it's interactive! I love when they get the audience involved.
As for Nemo, it's beautiful, but after running through parks all day, when I sat down in that dark theater, it almost put me to sleep. I was struggling to stay awake!

My DD2 couldn't handle Nemo (darkness, loud, had to sit in the nosebleeds) but she loved FOTLK.

I am taking my DD2.5 to Disney this next week. We are not sure if we should attempt Nemo because of the reasons above. While I know each kid is different, can folks who have seen the show with little ones give me a recommendation on whether or not to try Nemo. (Sorry if this is considered hijacking this thread - I am not trying to).

I chose FOTLK. We do it every trip. We've done Nemo once--only once! We won't be wasting time with that one again! I was looking for a chicken exit! :lmao:

DH LOVES FOTLK, and I enjoy it. When Nemo first opened we caught it on our next trip - didn't have to wait too long and had fairly decent seats, near the center of the lower section, sort of mid theater. We both thought it was a complete waste of time. Neither of us cared for the way they do the puppets and people together - it was distracting. And we thought the show was WAY too long. We've seen the movie, please give us the condensed version in the park :rolleyes1 In the 7 trips since then, we've never even considered going to see it again, but we've done FOTLK probably 5 more times.

Both are great. I would definitely try to do both, but if you can't I would have to go with the Lion King. It is a beautiful performance!

How long are each of these shows ? When is the best time to see them ?

I believe both shows are approximately 30 minutes. However, I feel like I get more show from FotLK because it's energy packed and there's audience participation.

In terms of when, we go at different times of the day, but we try not to go to the first or last show since these tend to be the busiest. Not sure if this is true, but this has been our experience.

Definitely the FOTLK show. I think it is the best show at WDW.:woohoo: I make it a cannot miss each and every time I go. Even when nobody else in the family wants to go with me, I am there.:dance3: The Nemo show is okay, too.

I know I already told you this on another thread, but since you're asking specifically now....;)

Nemo Nemo Nemo!!!!!

FOTLK is by no means bad. It's enjoyable and very good. But Nemo is AMAZING!

I saw FOTLK back in 2000 and remembered liking it. This trip we saw Nemo, and then went and saw FOTLK and were a little underwhelmed after with it after Nemo.

If you only have time for one, I would just go with whatever time and location fits in better to your touring plan.

We have always enjoyed the Lion King show, but the Nemo show is AWESOME!!! :fish: My daughter is a huge Nemo fan though. We had to wait FOREVER to see it back in March, and it was totally worth it. Lion King is the classic, but Nemo is the new AWESOME thing!!!

If I remember right I think Nemo is closer to 45 minutes. We did see it in March though so I could be wrong. hahaha

Nemo Nemo Nemo!!!!!

I know, our conversation got me thinking -- #1, maybe I SHOULD do Nemo instead, #2 When other people started chiming in on LK, I thought, I really do wonder what the popular vote would be! Interesting!!

Isn't it SO interesting how one person can love something so much and someone else can take it or leave it? Like Fantasmic! I would NEVER miss this show, it is a huge highlight of our trips! When I read where others didn't care for it, thought it was boring, or just wouldn't waste their time, I'm just like, huh?. WTH??  I'm also a firm believer in you have to see stuff yourself to decide, so I'm definitely going to check them both out at some point. Hopefully BOTH times I'll be like, OMG, can't believe I waited THAT LONG TO SEE THAT! :cloud9:

I've been to WDW about 25 times since '99. We loved the FOTLK show....tried to do it every trip. But after about 5 viewings, we stopped trying so hard. I hadn't been to it again, in about 5 years, until last August. It was just as I remembered it.
Then, we had tried the Tarzan Rocks show...hated it. Well except for Tarzan himself..he was worth the price of admission but that's a whole different thread!!! Hated the show itself.
Then, Finding Nemo came along. It is our family favorite now. We have even seen it mulitple times in one trip. We didn't get to do it in August and my dd is still moaning about it.
We love the music, the staging, the puppets, the whole thing. Can't wait to see it again in a few weeks in fact.
