Many people- myself included- are trying to figure out which rides have made people sick. While ride descriptions and such can help, there's nothing like firsthand experience  . So, help fellow DISers out- if you or a DFMWMS (Disney Family Member with Motion Sickness) ever got sick from experiencing one of these attractions, please let us know! Multiple responses are possible and appreciated!

Mission Space. Did it once, never again.
Teacups make me nauseous (sp?)

WORST - Mission Space! I had to go lay down for the afternoon...missed my ADR at San Angel Inn.

Also sick after Prime-Evil Hurl, Star Tours, and Teacups. I also got queasy on the swingset at CSR....

Roller coasters and TOT do not bother me at all.

I was trying to take pics on the teacups and lost it!!!

I was screaming "stop spinning" at my dh

and my kids were scared to death I was going to hurl on them...

it was not a magical moment...

I do not remember the teacups making me SOOOO sick as a kid

I'm a teacup spinner. I get those things spinning extremely quick. What's funny is people would dare others to ride with me and not hurl. So one time I ride on them and someone requests not to spin it...
What happens?

:crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

I never lived it down.

eeeeeww!!!

I imagine you probably haven't done that again? At least while wearing any good clothes...

Thanks for all the responses so far. I'm in a weird position with these rides, as I never experienced motion sickness at all until just a few years ago- and now I have it really bad (I take prescription Dramamine regularly- even at home). So, I've been on almost all the rides mentioned above- I know exactly what they're like, but I have no idea how I'll react to them now. So far, Star Tours and Mission: Space are the only ones I'm ruling out - Mission: Space because of the responses, and Star Tours because it seems an awful lot like an airplane (and unfortunately, I already know how I react to airplanes... I apologize in advance if any of you are forced to share a plane with me on my way to WDW in June...)

You forgot Body Wars. I wish I could. :crazy2:

Bleah....I'm not prone to motion sickness at all, but that one turned me green.

i hurt my back on rnr( didn't keep head back at take off and it messed up my bad back... signage ?what signage?) :rotfl: second time i rode it( after i laid low for a day so back would get better and i could take bigger than baby steps) was fine with head firmly placed against restraint at take off.

husband has turned green and not with envy, from teacups, MS, and star tours

i can't really figure why somethings bother me and others don't as i get vertigo and lose of a balance fairly regularly in normal life and espec. on any thing with corkskrews but not at wdw..maybe cause they are inside and usually dark so you don't get the same "brain feedback" ( my problems are neurological) :confused3 ???but tryin to get on a ride with a moving sidewalk ( not on your list hehe) makes me walk like a drunken sailor every time :confused3 :confused3

I hate Star Tours, DH & I both felt really icky when we got off. Sometimes I get a headache when I get off of Space Mountain, but I think it is because I am not brave enough to open my eyes

I didn't check everything only because I have more sense than to go on some of them. I can sick on the Monorail. Forget Dumbo. I close my eyes in the 3-D shows. :crazy2: It's not easy bein' green...

Anything that goes in circles, including the carousel. I also have problems with Star Tours, Body Wars, and one part of Soarin'......

Teacups made me sick when I was younger, Primeval Whirl made me sick when it first opened. I've ridden these recently and they did nothing to me and my stomach of steel. :thumbsup2 Mission: Space made me sick once, but that's only because I went to World Showcase and stuffed myself beforehand.

I got sick after eating dinner at the Garden Grill in January. We ate there last August and I was a bit queesy, but didn't get sick. It is very slow moving and I thought maybe it was from the heat. I packed bonine especially for using on our Epcot day in January just in case it was the GG. I forgot to take my bonine but figured I'd do fine. I get motion sick in any ride that spins or bounces. For some reason, I kept looking at the floor where you could tell the restaurant was moving and I could see our reflection in the glass area near the handrails that we were moving. I was feeling queesy but thought I'd be ok. When we got back to the hotel, I was laying in bed and felt super dizzy and barely made it to the bathroom in time. It is our kids favorite character meal but I don't know if I can do it again, even with the bonine.

Thanks for the heads up on Garden Grill. That would do me in.

Never again. I spin em like crazy now. Never get sick. It's when I don't spin em, I get wobbly.

I couldn't vote, you didn't list the most cookie-tossing inducing ride: IASW! :crazy2:
Yikes! it really makes me queasy! :scared:

Jean

I can say honestly none of the rides have made me sick. I have gotten a little dizzy on the tea cups but that was self-inflicted. I haven't been able to ride EE yet but I haven't met a coaster that I didn't like yet either so I am not worried.

Good thread idea. Body Wars does me in. I won't even think about Misson after that. :crazy2:

I would have added Body Wars next, but you're only allowed 12 options, and I figured Star Tours was similar enough.
