Which rides are NO-NOs for motion sickness?

I don't mean SEVERE motion sickness, but I really don't like that 'stomach dropping' feeling.

What rides should I not ride?

I don't want to ruin my trip by riding something that will make me sick... but I want to be able to ride some stuff with my hubby.

Primeval Whirl at AK! If any ride is going to make you lose your lunch, this is it. Your stomach will definitely drop on the Tower of Terror at MGM, so that could possibly make you queasy too. Oh, and my husband won't even LOOK at the Teacups! Take your Dramamine & have a blast.

There are only 3 that I refuse to let myself be talked into riding. Mission Space, Primeval Whirl, and Tower Of Terror (once was enough, thank you). BTW, don't be afraid of Star Tours. It's a lot of fun! :)

Mission Space would be the Biggest NO-NO for you. Probably don't have to tell you but Rockin Roller Coster has loops and corkscrews.

In addition to the comments above. Don't be afraid of Test Track.

I hate to say it but the teacups get me every time... I love rides and can go upside down and flip all around but spinning makes my head ache. I have to really be in the mood for Mission Space and skipped it the past 2 times.

Mission Space was the worse ride I ever went on. I am a bit claustraphobic coupled with the spinning motion I really felt like the top of my head was going to blow offscared1: . When I got off the ride I was pale, nauseous and dizzy  . I love roller coasters but MS kicked my butt. I was told that Body Wars was also a motion simulator so I stayed off of that one too.

There are soooo many great rides you will have a blast even if you stay off a few. I was even able to do a little shopping while DH and kiddies went on MS again.

The teacups almost made me hurl. I also think I blacked out for a minute or two.........but this time I will take them. I will conquer the teacups!!! :bounce:

The Carrousel makes me ill. Others include:
Space Mt
Big Thunder Mt
Teacups
Dumbo
Astro Orbitor
Aladdin's Flying Carpet
Goofy's Barnstormer
Star Tours
Body Wars
Mission: Space
Test Track
Rock N Roller Coaster
Tower of Terror
Primeval Whirl
Triceratops Spin

Also at Disney Quest:
Jungle Cruise
the Aladdin's ride
Buzz Lightyear (with the balls that shoot out)
Make your own Roller Coaster

I have pretty bad motion sickness myself (basically anything that spins messes me up, even things like carousels.) but I was perfectly fine on Tower of Terror, RnR, Primeval Whirl, and Mission Space (MS is actually my favorite Disney ride now.) I'd say, if you're nervous about a ride making you sick, just ride it at the end of the day so that if it does make you sick it won't ruin your day at least. I did this with MS, and I ended up having a great time with it! (I wasn't really concerned with ToT or RnR though because roller coasters and drop rides don't really bother me.)

How spinny is primeval whirl? We didn't get to do it the last time, but I'd kind of like to try it. The teacups don't bother me. Havent' tried MS, but DH felt ill for about 2hr afterwards. :guilty: :scared1:

don't know if its opened, but Body Wars really made me feel sick for hours. Star tours which is also a simulator, however, was completely fine.

Body Wars always makes me a bit floopy, but Star Tours is fine. I don't know why, since they're pretty much the exact same ride, but for some reason Body Wars feels a bit rougher.

If you can handle teacups you can handle primieval whirl, if memory serves the first part of the coaster is all wild mouse, 1950's standard amusement park roller coaster, the second half is a lot of spinning very similar to that of teacups.

I absolutly agree that Mission Space is very high on the motion sickness meter, I can ride major spinning rides and roller coasters and Mission Space still makes me a little nasau.

Don't be afraid of Big Thunder Mountain or Space Mountain though, they are fast that's true, but no big drops, just a lot of fun, that happens to be fast. I would try Big Thunder before Space Mountain though as its a good starter coaster.

Never rode TOT I don't like drop/tower rides, even frog hoppers make me sick...

Rockin' Roller Coaster is a launched coaster, very much along the lines of the Mr. Freeze coasters at Six Flags, Storm Runner at Hersheypark, Xcellerator at Knott's Berry Farm, except not as intense as those that I mentioned. It does have loops, and is thrilling, but not freakishly so. The only thing that might make you sick is the launch, (0-57 MPH in 2.8 seconds). Loops don't bother me, but I know they bother other people, Rockin Roller Coaster only has two.

I get pretty bad motion sickness on planes, cars, boats, but not on roller coasters - but I CANNOT do Star Tours - anything simulated makes me sick. For what that's worth :confused3

Mission Space was the worst ride I've ever been on. I was sick almost from the beginning even though I looked straight ahead like I was supposed to. By the time the ride was over, I was pale and shaking. I had to sit on the bench near the exit and a cast member came over to check on me and got me some water.

Other rides that bother me are Astro Orbiter, Teacups and Star Tours. Space Mountain also makes me a little quesy. I've never been on Primevil Whirl, Triceratops Spin or Aladdin's Magic Carpet. I know I can't handle them. TOT, on the other hand, doesn't bother me and is one of my favorite rides.

I ride tons of thrill rides and spin and pukers, but there are two rides that get me at WDW, body wars (if open) and star tours. I have never gotten off these two rides feeling fine, and I am usually the one who usually gets stuck riding them with the younger set of our extended family since there needs to be someone responsible  7 of the 8 times that I rode mission space I was fine, but that one time I looked away from the screen to see if nephew was ok since he looked utterly surprised at the situation and from the very moment I looked to the side I was done :guilty: It took me an ellen's energy adventure, SE, and living with the land in order to feel better!
