Which restaurants should we try?

Been to WDW many times and will be visiting again in August. We have tried several of the restaurants and often tend to go back to those we enjoyed the most. So this trip we're planning to try a number of restaurants that we've either never tried or haven't tried in over 5 years. We are not very picky eaters so we tend to like the food almost no matter where we eat at WDW. Also interested in restaurants with a high "fun factor" like 50s Prime Time. So, I'm hoping to get some advice.

I went through the WDW restaurants and listed many of those that are on our "never tried" or "haven't tried in the last 5 years" list. Please help with recommendations, warnings, stories from a particular restaurant, etc.

Brown Derby
Coral Reef
Biergarten
Bistro De Paris
Nine Dragons
Restaurant Marrakesh
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Jiko
Maya Grill
Shula's Steak House
Todd English's bluezoo
Trail's End
Narcoose's
Yachtsman Steakhouse
Cap'n Jack's Restaurant
Fulton's Crabhouse
Raglan Road
Bongos Cuban Cafe
House of Blues
Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Cafe
All Star Cafe at Wide World of Sports

Thanks in advance for your help.

We love the Crystal Palace for breakfast. We do it every trip. The food is very good and it is a character meal with Pooh and friends.

The only one on your list I can comment on is Crystal Palace. We did it for the first time the year before last and loved it!. We're doing the breakfast this year. Can't wait :woohoo:

Brown Derby is a must!! The food was delicious!!! I didn't see Flying Fish on your list, hope you've tried it, another one not to miss!!

We've only been to a few on your list. LTT was fun, good food. Had the apple tart for dessert, it was excellent. Good service. will do again!

Narcoossees was excellent the food, the service, the view...all incredible. was a great choice!

Yachtsman steakhouse, the food was good but not as good as I expected. Service was only so-so... probably won't go here again for awhile.

LeCellier was our favorite as far as the food but Ohana dinner was our favorite overall for food, view of Wishes, entertainment...

From our taste buds to yours...

Coral Reef - wonderful, do an early lunch or dinner, asked to be seated by the tanks, wonderful food and views of the aquarium.

Crystal Palace - great place for a late breakfast after an early entry morning in MK. Nice selction of foos on the buffet and Pooh and friends visit your table.

Liberty Tree Tavern - used to love it - but had dinner there last week and the beef and turkey were a bit dry. Maybe lunch would be better.

enjoy where ever you eat and stay cool

Of those you listed, I've tried:

Coral Reef... great atmosphere and good food
Biergarten.... family loved it... I liked it but the food is too rich and made my stomach feel heavy all nite.
9Dragons... haven't been in a couple of years BUT the food is good and the building is beautiful. We don't have great sit-down Chinese food in our town so it is a treat for me at 9Dragons but if you do have a good sit-down Chinese food restaurant in your area... it's probably no better/worse than what you have... I'd say it's worth the price/1TS.
Crystal Palace... good food... good character interaction.
LTT... food is okay... run by Stouffers and kind of tastes like a turkey/beef frozen dinner but served family style with as many fill-ups as you desire...character interaction and service is very good.

Crystal Palace has a great dinner buffet. I enjoyed meeting Pooh, Tigger and a few others there, too. :) I haven't been for breakfast, but I'm sure it rocks as well!

Crystal Palace: We have eaten breakfast there every year for the past four years. We love it.

Narcoossee's: Our first dinner there was last year and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We have ADRs there for this trip.

Coral Reef: Had lunch there two trips ago and won't be back. None of the eight of us enjoyed our food.

Fulton's: Had dinner there two trips ago and found the food to be bland and over priced. Will not return.

Marrakesh is an amzing experience and wonderful food.
Raglan Road was probably the most wonderful meal we had there, in my sort of non picky opinion.

What a list! Here is what I can contribute:
Brown Derby - excellent Cobb Salad and grapefruit cake! Great for lunch or dinner.

Biergarten - Fun atmosphere. There was a band playing when we went. Good selection of German food. Even though I am not a big fan of German food, I enjoyed the experience.

Restaurant Marrakesh - ate as part of the CP package. There was a dancer during our meal. Enjoyed the lamb the most.

Crystal Palace - Ate breakfast there last year. Lots of character interact as a previous poster has said. Good breakfast if you want a sit down breakfast in the Magic Kingdom.

Liberty Tree Tavern - I miss the old menu, but the family style Thanksgiving dinner is sure to please. The salad was excellent. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, try someplace else. If you want a character dinner, it is a good one.

Jiko - Excellent. I would definitely eat here if I hadn't eaten here in awhile. The Kenyen Flatbread is a very different and tasty appetizer. For entrees, the filet with mac and cheese is excellent, and the short ribs and lamb are also very tasty. The Pistachio Creme Brulee is one of our favorite desserts. The wine list is also exceptional.

Todd English's bluezoo - did not really like this restaurant when we went, although we are big fans of Todd English's Olives Restaurant. Many posters have immensely enjoyed their meal here, so maybe we just hit it on a bad day. We didn't really enjoy our meal or the service.

Cap'n Jack's Restaurant- ate here recently for lunch. I enjoyed my meal and would definitely eat here again.

Raglan Road-ate here twice in recent trips and enjoyed the food both times. First time sat at the bar, second at a table. The service at the table was very bad (20 minutes to get a menu!) but would definitely dine here again. I've had the chicken pie and the shepherd's pie, DH has had the bangers and mash. The chicken pie is my personal favorite of the three, although all were very good. Excellent selection of beers on tap.

Enjoy your trip!

Brown Derby!!! The cobb salad is to die for and the seared Ahi Tuna is amazing. We wouldn't miss it.

Thanks for all the great information. Yes, we have eaten at Flying Fish and really enjoyed it. We may try to squeeze that one in again. Glad to hear all the positive comments about Brown Derby. We may try the "Lunch with a Disney Imagineer" for that one. Also thinking we'll try Narcoossee's. Still debating our other choices. Please let us know of any other suggestions.

Thanks Again,
Hank T.

House of Blues, Jiko, Brown Derby and Raglan Road (never did it but hear good things). I would avoid Bongos and Nine Dragons like the plague.

A big thumbs up :thumbsup2 to:

Raglan Road
Biergarten
Marrakesh
Crystal Palace (breakfast)

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teens) thoroughly enjoyed all of these.
