Which restaurants in Epcot can you see Illuminations?

Ever notice that those kinds of people never speak English?

Now I am not meaning that people who do not speak English are not nice people. Most are. However, the kind that would stand in front of others often 'conveniently' do not.

Guess it is easier to be rude if you are not forced to defend your actions. :confused3

No, I actually haven't noticed that. The rudest people I have met in WDW, and elsewhere, have usually been born and bred Americans. Of course, the vast majority of Americans have not been rude. I certainly don't want to make a broad generalization. You might try the same.

I've found that it doesn't take a language barrier for some people to feel free of having to defend their transgressions.

Oops! I am being misunderstood here. The best thing about DW for me is the people I meet. Race, creed, religion or whatever, the differences is what makes people interesting to me. I even enjoy people who do not agree with me. It is not one of my requirements for friends or relatives. :)

I am just stating, that in my experiences, I have had people who do such pretend (IMO) not to speak English so that you do not feel that you can confront them with their actions. I am equally sure that many of those people WERE born and bred Americans.

The only generalization I make about people is that each and everyone is unique. There just seems to be something about ME that encourages people to do things. I must not be too scary - in person. :cool1:

The sad thing is that I am very generous with my Disney experiences and since I am lucky enough to be a frequent visitor I always try to NOT hog all the special moments. I let kids in front of me at parades and have been known to hold a couple of seats for people I just met in the parks who might not otherwise be able to see parades and such. Families with small children and older people especially.

Am I forgiven now? I am just talking about what I have eperienced. Your mileage may vary.

we're planning to hit the cantina at mexico at about 6pm for nachos and a flow of margaritas... then illuminations is at 9pm and we've got a late dinner booked at the san angel inn :)

I'm hoping it's going to work for us

Hmm....

Hopefully I can get those Le Cellier reservations earlier then.
We've got them for 8:50pm, could we just walk out of Le Cellier to see the fireworks? How good of a viewing spot is the area outside of Le Cellier?

The counter service restaurant in Morocco has an outside eating area with an obstructed view of Illuminations.

Unfortunately, Le Cellier is down a sloping path that goes through a garden area. It's about 150 feet back to the main road around the lagoon, and then you need to find a spot that hasn't been claimed, which is pretty unlikely that close to FutureWorld, any time of the year. It is also pretty far to go from a restaurant that you're holding a table in. I'd write-off Illuminations if you have an 8:50 pm ADR.

We have found it's not worth trying to get a dinner spot with a view. It's so limited at Epcot and EVERYONE wants that special seat that it's not worth the hassle. Instead we'd rather eat at our top pick of restaurant without worry of where we are seated and finish in time to get a good spot around the lagoon. View is better that way, anyways.

That's our two cents as well. Not worth the hassle. Even if I'm free and easy, the person pitching the fit to the waitress at Rose and Crown over the lack of an outside table is enough to send my bloodpressure up.

Quackers, in my experience getting table seats if there is any space between you and what you want to see does not work as people come along and stand and if my memory serves me correctly there is a huge space/pathway between the tables at Tangierine and the water. I am sure Bicker will correct me if I am mistaken. :sunny:

There is a similar situation at MGM where I often see people delightfully getting the tableside seats and then are saddened to find that situation.

Since we are planning a dinner at Tangierine on evening I would so like to be wrong. :goodvibes

You are absolutely correct, Goofy! :)

Hmm, in that case, we'll have to cancel the ADR. :sad2:
I really want to see Illuminations.

Bicker, you do know that I am teasing you do you not? You just seem to know so much about DW and are always willing to chime in with advice.

I have a friend who just returned and she was telling me about her favorite spot. It sounds as if it is the stage area just over the bridge as you go into the WS. Since I usually watch from the Mexican CS place this sounded even better as it is closer to the front of the park. I am often pretty disabled by the time I am ready to leave so every step saved is a good thing.

We do have ressies at R&C at 7:40 one night and hope to get lucky in seeing Illuminations. If not, try, try again some other time. :cool1:

BTW, I truly do have some sympathy for those poor souls who are on a once in a lifetime, break the budget trip and are over the top in trying to see each and every thing EVEN when they are sometimes rude (some without knowing). I have not always been so though and fear that I might have transgressed somewhere along the line in my first trips as well. :confused3
