Which restaurant did you not like that everyone raves about?

A very leading question. If this thread goes on long enough every restaurant in WDW will be mentioned!!

Not that it gets rave reviews but DBF & I HATED Biergarten. The food was incredibly bland. It wasn't even just 'ok' food... yuck.

We thought Le Cellier was pretty good, just not worth 2 credits. It's also not a must do restaurant for us.

Ohana is a must do for us even just for dessert...
Our food was great and the service was great too. I've read tons of mixed reviews about Ohana though.

Yak and Yeti. Had heard so many raves about it that I was really looking forward to that visit but we did not like our food! Service was good though!

The Wave. Not flexible. I am picky. Small portions. The filet was hockey puck sized and DH and DS would have liked 3! Also Artist point. We went for buffalo steak but the offering was braised buffalo ribs. DS got sirloin and was sick for the next 2 days!! We tried to be adventurous and got the wild boar app. It looked like fancy feast cat food on a plate. OMG I actually tried a bite and still get the goosebumps just thinking about it!! Blarrrkkk!!

I think the dining plan has ruined dining at Disney. Top quality food does not come cheaply so how can they afford to give it away? Either the quality has come way down or they are overcharging for everything else. I used to work at Tony's Town Square Restaurant back in the early 90's when it was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the food was quite good but the recent reviews are quite bad. With that being said we dined at Whispering Canyon, Boma and Kona Cafe on our most recent trip and we were dispointed in the service and food. Cape May seafood buffet on the other hand was decent.

I totally agree. So would you rather have delicious food and no dining plan or the dining plan and subpar food?

Sometimes I think they should just have CS dining plan. If you want a nice TS meal you should pay for it. And then I wonder on a typical day at any given TS restaurant how many guests are dining plan vs. OOP. The Dis is a small portion of the Disney consumers. Does the general public actually purchase the dining plan? Enquiring minds want to know. I wonder because I always think of the Disney visitors in quarters.

1/4 - Stay offsite die hard money cautious Disney fans
1/4 - Onsite/offsite visits every few years
1/4 - Onsite/offsite 1st timers - clueless, taking it all in for the 1st time, they know nothing.

Chef Mickeys bar none the worst. the food anywhere the same and if FD or not WDW would use same food vendors. Have been going to WDW since first opened and before Epcot built and food much better and more choices now than ever.

OT Does anyone remember when Chef Mickeys was at DTD Marketplace? Probably 20 years ago! That was as good restaurant.

We didn't really care for the food at Marrekesh. The restaurant is beautiful but our food was cold and flavorless. We probably won't return.

I have never been there. But I have to say Tangerine cafe. One of our fave CS.

The Crystal Palace. We heard rave reviews about that one but really didn't like it. It was super crowded, tough to navigate and the food wasn't that great. :-(

Captains Grill - it was the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant.

Le Cellier - it was a let down after all the rave reviews and I can't stand it when a steakhouse can't cook a steak to order.

50's Primetime Cafe. The service was slow and the food tasted like Stouffer's. I even think that Stouffer's is OK but I can make that at home.

Raglan Road. Very noisy (we had to shout to hear each other), and the fish and chips were barely lukewarm and pretty soggy. Others seem to like RR, tho, so maybe we just hit an "off" night.

Garden Grill, worst meal I've ever paid for. 4 of us and we all left starving.

Le Cellier, they call this a steak house. The best steak I can remember getting at WDW was from the Contemporary Resorts Concourse Steak House back in the day. We found nothing great about Le Cellier and that was using 1 credit. Now it's 2?

Sunshine Seasons - did not like the food - desserts were good though!

Wolfgang Puck Express - I think people really only like it b/c it is alot of food for one CS credit on the Dining Plan. I think the food is pretty bad and not worth it.

Les Chefs de France - I remember eating here back when I was a kid (mid 80s) and it was such a fab meal. Been back twice in recent years and it sucked. Food was SO bland and flavorless, and the wait staff was exceedingly slow and inattentive.

That was my first CS restaurant and OMG was it delicious. DBF has never had Moroccan/Greek food before & he fell in love!

Yachtsman Steakhouse.
We have tried it 3 times and we will not be back.
The setting is beautiful, the service was great and the onion rolls were delicious. Other than that, not so good.

Have to agree with others:

Le Cellier, very dissapointing and sad to say but it was much better in terms of food, atmosphere and price of course when in was a buffeteria!
Akershus is just a mere shadow of its former glory. For those of you who never got to experience the original form, pre-princess, it had a hot and cold board and you helped yourself to both and the food was wonderful - it was the one restaurant that was not to be missed! We went one time when they changed to princess city and never again - food, atnosphere are all gone!
When they changed King Stephan's Banquet to Cinderella's Royal Table-the same can be said in terms of food quality, atmosphere & price, so sad!

Happily there are still plenty of wonderful choices that we have never had a bad experience at!
