Hello!
I'm in the beginning stages of planning a family trip for Spring Break 2022 (the week AFTER Easter). It will be me, DH, DS (7) and DD (5).

I'm hoping to stay at BLT, but I don't know if I'll be able to get a room at the 7 month mark. (I'd want a one-bedroom)

The other options are: AKL, Boardwalk, Saratoga (where I own) or Old Key West.

Please give me any advice or input, thank you!!

Going by this, looks good at 7 months put for April tho you may need to bump up to lake view 1BR.

Does anyone know why there's such greater availability for the Lake View as opposed to standard? Is there a significant difference in the number of points needed? Is the lake view not so great? Just wondering.

I think generally it’s just that lower point options go the quickest for most resorts. It’s around 4 or 5 points extra a night to upgrade BLT 1BR in April.

It is also about inventory.

There are 30 lock-off 2BR Standard units at BLT, which means 30 total Standard studios and 1BRs. Add in another 15 dedicated 2BRs that cannot split, and that is your Standard inventory.

Meanwhile... there are 101 lock-off 2BR Lake View units, plus another 74 dedicated 2BR Lake View.

You can pretty easily see the math here.
