I have a question for all of you experts...
My mom (50-ish) and I (26) would like to go to WDW sometime in February or March... The dates are really flexible, but we're thinking we'll go from like Wednesday to Sunday.
Our plan is to RELAX. We've both had an extremely tough year. With DH and my son (our first child) being stillborn in August (we lost a son, mom lost a grandson), the passing of my uncle (mom's brother-in-law), and my grandmother (mom's mom) suffering terribly from Alzheimers... We both just need a break.
We'll probably visit some of the parks, but I'm hoping to be about 15 or 16 weeks pregnant by mid-February, so we (I mean "I") won't be doing the "thrill" rides... Mom likes them but I have a feeling she won't want to "leave" me waiting for her. (I don't mind, I LOVE to people watch! LOL)
Anyway, I know there's Presidents Week in mid-Feb, but I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions as to WHEN we should think about going. Mom's concerned about how COLD it will be... she's only to Orlando in mid-April and late October. We're from upstate NY, so I'm sure almost anything will feel warmer than it is here... if we can swim, that would be great - I'm just not sure how the weather will be. Any suggestions?
Also, I am open to suggestions as to where to stay. DH and I have stayed at ASMu twice, Pop Century, and AKL. Mom has only stayed at PO-R and she loved it. I was thinking along the lines of the BC, but if it is going to be too cold to swim, then that wouldn't appeal to us so much. We'd be interested in Stormalong Bay.
Mom has the Disney credit card and she was also wondering if there are any deals to be had with that... She LOVES the WL, so maybe around there? I think she'd also like AKL but I don't want her spending a fortune...
On another note - DH is one of those guys that just goes to Disney because I ask him to... or so I thought. When I told him that Mom and I were thinking about going, he was so upset. He said he wanted to go too! LOL It may be a little tough to be there without him because when we went this past April, we were pregnant with my son. We will always have those wonderful memories. I'll never forget him holding my belly while we stood in awe, watching Wishes. It was unforgettable.
Anyway, sorry to ramble - just wanted some advice. Thanks!

And you could still plan nice daughter/mother events without him for that alone time (Tea at the Grand Floridian...shopping at Downtown Disney)
