Apologies, as I know this has been asked plenty of times before! But....

Which is everyone's favourite Pop building?! I've no idea which building to request, although I would like one of the refurbed rooms! I know I definitely don't want a ground floor room (although if I do get one I'll deal with it) but apart from that I'm clueless :confused3

There's just 2 of us, aged 22 and 24. Based on theming alone I'd say 80s or 90s appeals to us (well me ;)) most but I'm not sure if this is a good area to be. Would like to be semi-centrally located but it's not the be all and end all as I'm sure we'd enjoy a nosy around the grounds.

Any thoughts welcome :thumbsup2

ETA: Forgot to mention we don't have a car so parking isn't an issue!

We stayed in the 80s last time and we loved it :thumbsup2 The computer pool is awesome and quiet!
I did find it abit of a trek to the classic hall so we didnt really take advantage of our Mugs, this time we have booked prefered to be closer to the classic hall to save our legs abit :thumbsup2

I think I read somewhere that the 70's had been refurbed, maybe someone can confirm that.

We have previously stayed in the 50's and when I rang to link some bookings together a few nights ago I asked for the 50's again if possible, they said it was a preferred building and they would see what they can do (which is fair enough if people have paid extra for a preferred room). So we shall wait and see :) although last time at check in they asked us which block we would like - maybe it also depends on how many guests are due to arrive etc.

we're just back form our first (wonderful) trip and on the advice of others here we asked for (& were given) the sixties building. We were ground floor and 'around the back' whihc meant it was nice and quiet and had a lovely view of the lake and ....we could see the epcot fireworks!! It was still close enough to the classic hall to make the mugs a true bargain and we felt happy to let our children (8 & 11) go back and forwards to the hall themselves. Have a great time

Hi stayed at pop 3 times now.In 80,s(in room looking towards bus stop on the top floor) in 70's(in a room at the back 2nd floor) and in the 60's (3rd floor) and i must admit i preferred the 8o's and the 60's though we didnt ask for a preferred room but because it was our wedding we had a free upgrade. I dont think any of the rooms are that far to walk and after walking around the parks all day another 5 mins isnt a lot. I would say high floor in 80's or 60's. we didnt drive either and the buses are great here.Frequent and plenty of them.Better than some of the moderates we have stayed at.OKW was the worst and that was a deluxe BUT the resort was stunning. Hope SSR and AKLV are as good:lovestruc

The '60s are very convenient to everything. We've also stayed in the '50s. The '50s was quieter, but we liked being close to everything.

We stayed on the top floor in the 90's building last year, it was very quiet and although it doesn't look it from the map it was only a 2 minute walk across a car park to classic hall and the buses for the theme parks, i would recommend.:thumbsup2

I stayed in an 80s building near the computer pool. It was very close to the main building and only took a couple of minutes to get there. :thumbsup2

Just back from staying in the 50's building which backs onto the lake, with "Tramp" at the front.
We were in a room at the "back" which faced onto the lake.

Nice and quiet away from the pool, but close enough to take advantage of it.

Not too long a walk to the main building (well, we didn't think so).

And we could see the Epcot fireworks even from the ground floor :cool1:

Thanks, everyone! Id be lying if I said I was any wiser on what to do, lol. Need to decide tonight as we can check in online to our room tomorrow and can make requests then :D

To be honest, I don't think it's that big a deal. Most buildings are easily walkable to the main bit and the bus stops, especially for young people with no kids. Don't worry about it too much. ;)

I agree anywhere is great. Nowhere is that far to walk and it's most definitely not a boring walk!!

I stayed in the 50's, top floor, right on the corner facing the lake, so we had no neighbour on one side (and no one in the other one) and could see the fireworks. :D

I loved staying there and will ask for the 50's lake view if we ever stay there again. I'd love to stay there every time but OH thinks it'd be too much Disney so will have to convince him lol.

Thanks, guys :)

I think I'm gonna be cheeky and ask for a refurbed room and a high floor. Whichever building/decade can be a surprise :goodvibes

I've just asked over on the Resort board whether 3 requests is too much? I'm considering adding a King Bed request but it's not a priority. I just think it's silly us taking up a room with 2 beds when a family could get into it!

Just called up to request a refurbished room :flower3: I didn't ask for anymore than that as she was pretty much finished after that and I didn't want to sound cheeky, lol.

I really hope I don't get a ground floor!!

Another vote for the 80s section! We stayed there and we loved the location, only a couple of minutes away from the foodcourt etc - and I loved the little mermaid picture on my wall :lmao:
