Thanks to everyone we decided on POP - any last thoughts on which decade?? The 50s, 60s and 70s all look an equal distance to the hall and parking is that true? Any opinions?? Can't wait :cool1:

We stayed in the 80s building and could see the bus stop from our room (very, very close...made it great for the evening walk home, had to be one of the shortest walks in the whole resort)

50's building one is a good choice as well.. It is close to the main building, the far end of the main building is really close and it is close to the bowling pin pool. I stayed there and loved it.

We were in 50's bldg 2, on the third floor at the very rear of the bldg. There was a parking lot right there. It was very quiet also. We loved it there!!

I believe that most of the 60's is preferred view, so you would pay more. We were in the 70's section, looked out at the lake, not a bad walk from anything really. We were pleased.

We were in the 70's section and were very close to Classic Hall and the bus transportation. I heard that the 70's section was suppose to be a little quieter than the 50's section because there isn't a pool...just the Goofy splash fountains.

We were also in building 2, 50's. Unless you are driving there is a long walk to transportation. Other then that it is VERY quiet. I would see if you could get building 1, but I don't think they look at requests. I was there for the dining though, maybe you can get a different room then assigned if it is less busy.

We just returned from the 50's facing the lake. We were on the 4th floor and had a clear view of Spaceship Earth when we walked out our door (couldn't see from window, as you have to look to the right when you walk out). It was very quiet and close to the bowling pin pool. That being said, it was a bit of a walk to the bus stop, and I liked the look of the 70's area better (maybe cause I was born in the 70's (barely) :confused3, or maybe because I thought the buildings in the 50's were an ugly purple)

However, there is not a pool in the 70's area!

Thats true, no pool in the 70's. It was really quiet where we were (facing the lake). Really, the 60's pool was very close to us though. It was not too far at all to get there. I think they did a nice job of laying out this resort so that most rooms are in desireable locations.

My DH, DD12 and I stayed in the 50's section in May and loved it!! We had a corner room on the 4th floor facing the pool and I'm not sure of the building # but it was the one closest to the 60's buildings. We walked through the 70's, 80's and 90's section while we were there and we definitely liked the 50's section the best - much brighter IMO and I loved the 50's theme. Like LakeAriel said, I don't think they really look at requests. We got the exact opposite of what we requested (with the exception of the 4th floor) but we didn't care because we were so pleased with the room location once we got there.

It's true there's no pool in the 70's, but the bowling pin pool always seemed more crowded than the main pool for some reason. Maybe it's the shape of it that made it feel more crowded, but we always ended up making the trek over to the main pool unless we were just jumping in to cool off. I never made it over to the computer pool to check the crowd levels over there.

Speaking of just jumping in to cool off. I was at the pool and witnessed something rather comical. A guy comes walking along wearing a Hawaiian style button-down shirt, shorts, shoes (I think they may have been water shoes hopefully), a hat, and sunglasses. He walks to the pool, down the steps, and into the water. He walks the length of the bowling pin pool, never glancing around nor completely submerging himself. He walks up the stairs on the far end and continues on his way. It was like he was determined he was walking from one location to another in a straight line, no matter what was in front of him, such as a swimming pool. I don't know if he was hot, or just trying to wash his clothes.
