I'm hoping you all can offer some advice. We don't leave for our trip for a few months, but I love to plan ahead so I can make PSs. :D

We are spending a few days in WDW after the Disney cruise with DS 3 and twin DD 5mos. We won't get there until 11am on Sunday, so much of the good touring time is already gone. We'll be leaving on Wed.

Here's what I was thinking of for an itinerary, but I'd like feedback:
Sun - AK (since we won't need a full day there)
Mon (am) MK, then hop to MGM in pm
Tue (am) MGM, then hop to MK

I've read that Monday is one of the busiest days at MK, so should we stay clear of it altogether until Tues? But then we can't take advantage of Extra Magic Hour at MGM on Tues.

DHs birthday is on Sun, so I'd also love some suggestions for him. If we do Ak on Sun, I thought we'd go to Rainforest Cafe for dinner.

Thanks so much for your insight!!!

It sounds fine to me...and I realize your children are young (and I have had 5month old twins). But I think I would do
Sun: MK (Wishes!!!) I would do Liberty Tree Tavern for a meal. (or Epcot for Illuminations)
Mon: AK (for Early Entry) and leave when busy or you have done it all. We got great pics of my twins with Mickey at EE. The safari is great in the early am. Then on to MGM or MK.
Tues: MGM early entry back to hotel for lunch and rest and back to MK in early afternoon-evening esp for Wishes.

Poss. you could get lucky and do some of your hard to get on rides at MK during a parade.

Either way I hope you have a great time...I would keep checking the park hours for information to help. :wizard:

"During regular attendance periods, our parks tend to be the busiest on the following days:

Magic Kingdom: Monday, Thursday, and Saturday princess:
Epcot: Tuesday and Friday :teleport:
Disney-MGM Studios: Sunday and Wednesday :rockband:
Disney's Animal Kingdom: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday" :flower1:

PS - You'd be surprised at how much there is to do in Animal Kingdom, especially considering that park closes earlier than the others.

Okay, so maybe I'll change it to:
Sun MK
Mon MGM
Tue AK/MK

canwegosoon, were you able to take the twins on the safari? Our ds loved it when he was 2, but I didn't know if it might be too much bouncing for babies.

Sunday: MK (light), MGM (average), Epcot (light), AK (light)

Monday: MK (crowded), MGM (average), Epcot (light to average), AK (above average in morning).

Tuesday: MK (average), MGM (average), Epcot (above average to busy), AK (above average).

Wednesday: MK (average), MGM (above average to busy), Epcot (average), AK (above average)

Thursday: MK (above average), MGM (average), Epcot (above average), AK (average)

Friday: MK (crowded), MGM (above average), Epcot (above average to busy), AK (average to busy)

Saturday: MK (above average to crowded), MGM (above average to crowded), Epcot (above average), AK (light to average).

I don't know if you will be there during an extremely busy time, but during peak season this summer I found Sunday afternoon at MK to be worse than Monday. I'd stick to your original plan. If you can't do EE at MK on Sunday I would skip it. Since you are planning on hopping over to MGM on Monday, you can always go early if the crowds are bad and return a little sooner to MK on Tuesday to get your favorites in. On Tuesday, I would leave MGM before lunch, walk/boat to Epcot for lunch in World Showcase and then take the monorail over to MK when you're done touring Epcot. If you're not an Epcot fan like me, you can just take the bus over to MK whenever you're ready. I couldn't go to WDW without walking through World Showcase. It's such a great place to go when you're tired of being in a theme park, and your oldest will love the Kidcot stations. I'd even give up AK in order to make it to World Showcase.

I was not as brave as you are...my twins were 5yrs old on their first WDW trip. I remember that my babies liked bouncy things ...I am not sure infants are allowed on this ride, although your babies will be a little older. If you are carring them in a baby pack, I think you will be fine...as I remember there is a little discression on the behalf of the driver as to how bumpy/fast they make the ride, I think they just have to keep a certain distance from other vehicles. So perhaps you can speak with a CM as they are loading you in the seating slots.
I just really remember how difficult it was to go anywhere and get anything done with infant twins. I never expected the onslought of people and questions...I am sure you know what I mean!!! ;) I hope you have a wonderful trip! Oh and I also wanted to add that perhaps your son would like Crystal Palace for dinner at MK too with Pooh and Tigger, as another option for his birthday!!!

Are you staying in a Disney owned resort? If so, you want to go to Magic Hour Mornings which currently are for MK- Sunday/Thursday, for Epcot- Wednesday, Disney MGM Studios- Tuesday/Saturday and Disney's Animal Kingdom- Monday/Friday. If you aren't staying onsite, then you will want to go to each of those parks on the day after the Magic Hour Morning. Hope you have a wonderful time!

Yup, we're staying on site. The MK is the one I'd really like to go early, but since the ship gets back Sunday morning, we won't be able to make it in time. And we won't be there for the Thurs Extra Hour. I had read that the EH days are usually more crowded, so that's why I initially thought we should stear clear of MK on Sun, but if it will be even more crowded on Mon, I guess we'll take our chances. I'm so confused.

canwegosoon, I wouldn't call it bravery, just economical! My company is paying for the whole trip so I absolutely could not pass up the chance!! Otherwise, I probably wouldn't take them for another couple of years. My mom and my brother are going to come down for the land portion of the trip, so we'll have extra hands. That way, we've got one more adult than children, so hopefully we'll be in good shape.

If we do go to MK on Sun, does anyone know if you can see the parade or fireworks from any of the park restaurants? I wondered if you might be able to see them from the patio at Tony's Town Square? Otherwise, can you see them from a restaurant at GF? We could always head back there as that's where we are staying.

Thanks!
