Which park to skip?

My boys are now 6 & 8 and EPCOT has always been their favorite park (mom & dads too) even over MK. I guess every kid is different. What are your kids looking forward to most? Thrill rides, characters etc? AK is our least favorite park of all but we still go every trip. Our trip is just not complete without every park. We never spend the whole day at AK, usually rest or do a nice dinner after AK.

Hi again all :wave2: We're taking our kids (will be 8,6,4,4) for their first trip in October. We have 5 full days there. We were planning 2 days in MK, 1 in HS, 1 in EPCOT, (and MNSSHP) and were debating whether to skip AK or squeeze in a half day on what is planned to be a rest day.

Given our kids' ages, would you recommend skipping EPCOT instead and replacing that day with AK?

Hubby and I are also considering having the kids hang out in Cub's Den and we could go to EPCOT one evening just the two of us.

WDYT? Thanks in advance!

Although EPCOT is my favorite park I would skip that due to the ages of the children.

You could do a 1/2 day in HS and then go back to the resort to rest for the afternoon and a 1/2 day in AK another day with a rest in the afternoon.
I don't think you will need a full rest day with only 5 days in the parks.

I think you should experience all 4 parks as well. Animal Kingdom and Epcot are our two favorite parks. We spend most of our time there.

We do a lot of half day parks go to the resort and sometimes we go back to a park. We do buy hoppers, my husband will not go without them.

Enjoy!:)

I would skip Animal Kingdom. I would not want to skip any, but if I had to choose that is the one. I always find we spend one solid day there. This last trip which was the longest we have stayed 11 nights we only spent one day at AK by choice.

If water parks counted I would skip the water parks first but out of the big 4 I could live without AK if I was in a pinch for time. ::MinnieMo::MinnieMo::MinnieMo

I would still do the half day at AK. I tend to think HS is a fairly skippable park, especially if you have younger kids and will be skipping Rock n Roller Coaster or ToT. You could do TSM, Star Tours and the Great Movie Ride (if you wanted to) and maybe the Playhouse Disney (if your 4yos wanted to) and be pretty much done. That way you'd have two half-park-half-rest days, and you wouldn't be skipping any parks!

(We would never skip EPCOT - it's one of our favorites! And there's a lot for kids to do there!)

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking we'll keep the full days at Epcot and HS, and add in a half day at AK either on the rest day or the day we arrive. I agree with the thought that the kids should see all 4!
