Well, last trip in December we bought the Park Hopper. We didn't expect to return to WDW within a year. Thought they would work for us and we'd save the extra days until next trip.

Plans changed :D and now we'll be going for DS8's birthday in October. We'll convert the PH's to AP's. Thinking about another trip in February (for DS3's birthday). And, of course, if we buy the AP's, we'll have to fit another trip in there before they expire (not such a bad thing!!).

Oh, by the way, I didn't vote. I suspect that in the future we'll do the AP's once we get rolling with them.

We buy premium annual passes.
My wife and I have had PAPs (uninterupted) for almost nine years. We started buying those once we realized the great deals for the on-site resorts. The money we saved on the Poly, would pay for the pass.

Since we live in Florida, we get the Florida Seasonal Pass, which lets you in to all four parks except during summer, Christmas and Easter weeks.

This is the first year I've purchased an AP so I've kept track:

Dec. 02: used pass 10 days out of 12 day trip ...cost per day ...$37.50
May 03: used pass 6 days out of 7....reduces cost per day to ...$23.50

Oct. 03 plan to use pass 9 days out of 12 ...final cost per day...$15.00

Such a deal!

Too many votes for AP equals no AP discounts for DVC owners. Appears DVC owners should have to pay MORE for an AP since they go so often-the demand is there right? Way to think it through.

Or . . . do DVC owners use the AP more often because they have it? (More trips, more points, more $ for Disney)

We live in Florida, so we definitely get our money's worth out of the FL Seasonal Pass. It doesn't include some of those hottest and busiest times of the year....so, I don't mind it at all.

A FL Seasonal pass runs near $200 and you can at least make your money back by spending 4 days in WDW and we've already done 8 days since we purchased the passes. With another 3 days coming soon!

I have never really done the math and I hope our thinking is correct....we go every year and buy AP's. Every other trip is free ticket wise. thats the way we figure it.
basically we get 12-13 days on our AP's every year.
We go to the parks every day too.

ps...we just joined DVC but I don't think we will go on multiple trips in a year.
:)
