Which one do you choose?

After our fist trip when w stayed on I Drive, we hav ALWAYS stayed on site, and will continue to do so as we bought into DVC.

It it wasn't so expensive I would definately choose the villa, but with only 2 of us it is more cost effective to have a hotel. :goodvibes

i would NOT choose a villa but either of the other two options ( i need a hotel to feel like im on holiday i suppose :confused3 )

We love to stay on-site for the full Disney experience. If not we like to stay on the 192 (still nice and close to 'The Mouse')

For the time we plan to be in WDW parks we always stay on-site and wouldn't do it any other way. We bought into DVC so that we could have the space and 'freedom' of an apartment/condo/villa with the advantages of an on-site resort.

However, when we're not planning WDW time we'll stay in whatever suits our needs for that particular part of the trip - on-site at USF for those parks, off-site hotel for SeaWorld / KSC, a villa or condo on the coast or in the Keys for that part of the trip.

Itchy feet, that's us! ;) :sunny:

Onsite DVC and ofsite villa home. i like having my own laundry and cooking facilities and extra room.

We always stay off site in a villa as there are normally 6-8 of us that go, so its works out cheaper for us :)

Off-site in a hotel - more cost effective than a villa and DH doesn't want to be immersed in 'The Mouse' 24/7.

We normally stay on I-Drive - plenty to see and do, lots of choice for dining and easy to get around.

Always in a villa. Could not even think about reverting back to one hotel room. Lot better with a few bedrooms , a few bathrooms and your own pool and its very much the same price as an hotel.

We have stayed, on 192 twice, on ID once, and stayed in a villa.

But since staying on site we have never turned back, mand have bought into DVC

I like hotels, makes it a holiday, but I loke to split it on and of site as well as between resorts, this year we are doing 2 days at RPR Univerial, 5 days on internasional drive and then 5 days at PORQ and then ending with 2 nights at AKL concierge :)

Villa for us.For one reason only the pool.We have 2 water babies that spend every spare moment in it.

hi
off site in budget hotel - get more trips in that way. only 19 days until we go  :cheer2: :cool1:

Onsite in a hotel, feels like Im really on holiday and its very convenient. :)

This is an interesting one for me to answer since we've just come back from our 6th trip - but first time staying in a villa.

We never stay in Orlando for more than a week (much more to Florida than just theme parks  ), so split our stay to week Orlando, two weeks Beach areas. In the past we've stayed onsite both Disney and Universal, as well as hotels in Lake Buena Vista area, or once on IDrive (not my particular fave area). Hotel on the beach :sunny:

This trip we used a friend's condo   in Fort Myers (not quite the same since it wasn't directly on the beach, but the pool kinda made up for it a bit) then back to Orlando for a week in a villa.

I can honestly say I enjoyed every moment. Even though I said sicne it was holiday I wouldn't be cooking, I did do breakfasts at the condo a few times, easy peasy over there, especially sitting out in the sunshine eating it ;) The villa was had was a dream, beautiful place.

There are only three of us - DH, me and 12 year old DD. The villa worked out a lot cheaper than a hotel for the week, even just for the three of us.

I did not miss staying onsite at Disney, but I have to admit I did miss my Hard Rock Hotel - or rather the real perks you get staying onsite at Universal.

I think next time we visit (in a few years since other holidays in the bag), our DD will be that much older again and will probably appreciate her own room (we definitely did this year!), so we will 'borrow' our friend's apartment again in Ft Myers, rent the same villa in Orlando, but have two or three nights onsite at Universal. Perfect.
