Last May our Family of four stay at the Polynesian Concierge and it was Beautiful no problems with the place, However we'd like to spend a little less next time.
When we plan to go back, we are doing the 4 Night cruise and want to spend 3 Nights at a less expensive Resort (booking seperate) since we will have a car this time, I don't mind not staying at a Monorail resort this time. Any suggestions?

Coronado Springs is definately my favorite. It has the best landscaping, the best attention to detail, best atmosphere, best playground, the best pool, best foodcourt, best transportation. I could go on and one. We loved it! It has a wonderful, laid back feel. It seems much more "deluxe" than the other moderates.

Port Orleans French Quarter is our second favorite. We really enjoyed it. The small size is nice and it has a lovely intimate atmosphere. It just didn't feel nearly as "deluxe" as Coronado Springs.

I feel about POR the same way Gem feels about CSR!!! I love everything about the place. We especially like the more formal rooms in Magnolia Bend, but love the rustic landscaping in Alligator Bayou!! But, in order to be fair...we are going to give CBR and AllStarMovies a try this summer!!

Top Three Moderates

1. POFQ - love the theming and the small size
2. POR - best food court on property and always stay ing the Magnolia Bend section
3. CSR - nice resort, good transportation, request the Casitas

Grumpy92......Why no CBR?? Can you give me your feelings, thoughts, etc?? I know some people love CBR while others don't. What are the drawbacks, in your opinion? I want to make a good choice here. Based on some of the feedback I'm getting, I may be booking AllStarMo and WL!!!! For the money I may just skip a moderate this time around.

CSR is our favorite! No shared transportation with other resorts, coffee maker in the room, great pool area, and a food court with a lot o choices.

Check out my website below

Good luck deciding!!

Coronado Springs gets my vote also. We will be there for our 5th stay in 11 days. Yehhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

My sister is loyal to two places - Poly & CBR. I think that CBR's atmosphere may come closest to Poly.

I have only stayed at POFQ. We liked it very much, but it will not give you that tropical feel that you may want. Still, in all, it was small and quiet which can also be nice.

1. CBR-love the island theming, walkway around lake, colorful buildings. Largest room size of moderate, lots of storage areas. Really a good idea to have a car if you stay here.
2. POR- have stayed in both AB and mansions. It is so pretty here. Don't miss the boat to DD.
3. POFQ- Liked the smaller size, if you have small children they will love the pool.
Mousekeeping is good at all resorts, very prompt with bringing the extra towels, coffee maker etc.
Never stayed at CSR, maybe next visit???

We stayed there once and felt it too remote. It seemed like the transportation took forever, having stayed at all the Disney resorts we were very surprised at this. We found ourselves too often just going in the car. Our room also needed major rehab. I know that many people like this resort but for us it is the least favorite of the resorts.

Thanks everyone for your opinions. I'm was kinda leaning toward Coronado Springs but nothing definite yet. They all seem nice and it's a hard decision, but soooo fun Planning! Just being on Disney grounds again will be great. Anyone else???

We just got back from 3 days at POR and 3 days at YC and loved them both. At POR we stayed on the Mansion side. We stayed at CBR two years ago and loved it as well. I believe it just depends on which style you might like better. I enjoy experiencing the different theming and most likely will try something new the next time. And you're right - planning is part of the fun. I spent many many hours researching where to stay and what room to request. My DH told me that he was very impressed with how much knowledge I had about the resorts that I picked and was very pleased with the room locations I had requested. I would never have known as much as I did without the help of this board. So - ask away.

We have stayed at all the moderates several times. My favorite by far is POR-either quarter. The mansions are great if you don't have kids, they have a romantic setting. If you do...Alligator Bayou or French Quarter (the pool here is great). We have just started staying at some of the deluxe resorts and they are nice but I still keep leaning towards POR--the best bang for your buck as far as I'm concerned!

At the moderate level, we have stayed at CSR, POR and CBR. CBR is our all time favorite. We love the carribean theming. Bus service has alway been great. It's recently renovated so all the rooms should be in top shape. Only downside is that it's rather large and spread out. Room location request are definiately important here. But in the 10+ times we have stayed at CBR, we have always gotten our request, or pretty close to it. CSR was too much a convention hotel for the relaxed vacacation feel we were looking for. POR is similar to CBR in things like layout, room size etc. but we really just prefer the carribean theming.

Last January was BWI and this year I think it will be Swan, but mostly for the proximity to Epcot and MGM. January hours make Epcot the only evening park choice, and walking out the back gate is just so convenient!

I've only been to CBR (out of the moderates) and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't just go by what you read here... check out www.wdwig.com and look at their resort descriptions and such :p . I'm sure, anyone you pick will be excellent!

If you do pick CBR; however, I do suggest trying to stay at Martinique or Trinidad North. Its a much closer walk to the Food Court / Shopping Area / Sit Down Rest.

Good Luck!

We stayed at the CBR this summer from June 24 through July5 this summer. My family and I loved it! The kids had a great ime and loved the grounds. We stayed in building 26 on the second floor and it was a short walk to the Food Court. We have plans to stay there agin this summer. I had no real complaints about the transportation. We never waited to long for a bus. THe onlly complaint that I had is that when it rains (and it rained alot this past summer) was that the bus stop was flooded when we got off. Nothing like trying to go back to your room with the shoes soaked! Otherwise than that the stay was wonderful. Don't leave this resort out when making your decision. Also the food court has been recently redone.

I must of really missed something at CBR. I liked it least of all the moderates. I found the rooms not to be as nice, transportation was lacking and the grounds weren't as pleasing either. I know they have re-done the resort so I'm sure it is nicer now. We stayed in 2000 and my entire family was disappointed. I don't want to start a controversy but just wanted to add a different opinion.
