Which MOD resort? What to do?

Okay, I've been going back and forth on this. And now I'm asking for advice.

We are planning a trip for next September. I wanted to make my reservations soon. It'll help to be able to pay it off over time. Hurts the purse strings a little less. ;)

Anyway, originally, I was set on booking CSR. But every time I check availibility for my week (10 days actually) on the website, it comes back as unavailable. A quote from Dreams Unlimited came back with CSR unavailable as well. I really want to stay at CSR, but we have to travel in September.

So, then I thought that we'd return to CBR. We really liked it there and it's been seven years since we stayed there. I knew we'd be happy with it. See, this trip, we plan to take it easier, spending a little more time at the resort and pool than we usually do. But then I read about the pool rehab. Now, the rehab is scheduled to be finished September 15th, which is right in the middle of my trip. I don't want to book CBR, only to be disappointed if the rehab is still going on.

So now my first choice and second choice have left me in a quandary. We stayed at POR last time and I'd like a bit of a change. We liked it fine, but I'd rather mix it up a bit and not stay at the same place twice in a row. This leaves me with my last choice, POFQ. We visited this resort last time and it's charming, but the pool situation is lacking. I know we could use POR's pool as well, but I don't want to have to be traveling there and back to go to the pool. At that rate, I'd rather stay at POR.

It all boils down to the fact that I really want to stay at CSR, but it is unavailable. From your experience, when a resort comes up unavailable this far in advance, what are the chances of that changing? I had gotten all excited about CSR when I finally decided to stay there and now I'll be disappointed if I don't get the chance.

So, what to do?

Last year when I was researching the CR and wanted to book I also came back with an unavailable message. I posted a question on here about it and someone (I think she was a TA) replied that sometimes the convention resorts (CR, CSR, & others) block out a number of rooms when a convention is scheduled. If theres any rooms left after all the convention goers have booked they release whatever rooms are left to the general public. So my advice would be to book any moderate you decide on so you have a room and keep checking on CSR. I would think something would open up especially this far out.

I guess which moderate to book is up to you. If you're worried about the CBR pool then pick POR and keep checking on CSR.

If you're wondering what happened w/our situation we booked the Poly and go in 28 days. CR is still showing full the last time I checked but I'm more then happy w/the Poly & we'll visit CR on our trip. Good luck to you and I hope something opens up for you at CSR. We hope to stay there someday.

Keep trying for CSR. Since it is a convention resort, they release unbooked rooms back to the general public once the "book by" date for a group passes.
