From which service do you get your Internet? Do you like it? Which, if any, did you switch from and why?

We have A T & T, but my husband is wanting Comcast. I remember a thread here on Disboards filled with people unhappy with Comcast. Of course, displeased customers get passed around any industry, not just Internet services. I was looking into Verizon as soon as I learned that they have Internet and not just cellular telephones. Verizon is well-liked among cell-phone customers, but a cell phone and an Internet connection are two very different things.

We have Comcast, and I'm fine with it. We don't have any problems at all with our high speed connection for internet, although we do occasionally lose our television signal.

I like it because whenever they raise my bill, I call them up and tell them if they don't give me a great deal, I'm switching. Then they sign me up for one of those special deals that are only supposed to be valid for the first year of the contract.

We used to have it from our local cable company charter. Then Verizon Fios came door to door, offered me a better deal and I have been with them ever since. They have never gone down one time!! Couldn't say that about my local cable company. Also their tech support is pretty good, my DH was just on the phone with them last night getting our wireless printer set up.

We use Charter Cable for high speed internet - no problems whatsoever for a long time now! (Can't say the same for their regular cable, but that is why we only use them for the internet.)

AT&T now. We have had Verizon Fios before and other assorted providers.

I guess I don't really notice a difference between them all.

We're in our 3rd year with Comcast, no problems thus far and we really like the service. We got the triple bundle promo for $125mo. incl TV, internet and phone. Much less expensive when we had 3 seperate plans. Good luck! :goodvibes

Time Warner Road Runner.. Love it..:goodvibes

Had Verizon - hated it..

Comcast, and I'd switch to Verizon Fios in a heartbeat, if it was available in my town.

Comcast is a big company. People love to take pot-shots at big companies. Their high-speed Internet service is great.

We use to have Comcast, but went with AT&T Uverse when it became available and have been very, very happy with it. Its been almost a year and I don't have anything but positive to say about it.

I can't say the same about Comcast. We had Insight for over 20 years and loved it. They changed to Comcast and the love faded and I was never pleased with them.

We have Comcast and I've beenvery happy with them. As a previous poster pointed out, when the promo period is over just call and tell them you switching and they usually give you another deal.

We have Comcast high-speed and have never had a problem. It goes out very occassionally, but what service doesn't? And it's never down for long. We are happy!

We have AT&T and love it!

We had AOL dial-up, but when we got cell phones we switched to AT&T, we now pay the same for broadband as we were paying for dial-up. the only problem we had was setting up the wireless gateway(not tech savvy, at all!), but the customer sevice rep. went over it with us as many times as needed, without sounding impatient or making us feel stupid! The people are great, but to be honest, the automated line leaves a lot to be desired. I would give them a 9 out of 10 satisfaction rating. :dance3:

AT&T. It's part of our U-Verse package. I've had AT&T since 2005 and have had very little problems with it.

Not necessarily true. We had Comcast in the past and their service was terrible. We switched to AT&T and it is much better.

For an example: A while back we had a big storm that tore a tree out of the ground which then fell on all of our lines. AT&T was out the day we called and took care of our phone line. They put a brand new one up and removed the old one. Comcast didn't come until 2 days later. Not only did they not put in a new line they left the old one under the tree which made it impossible for us to have the tree removed without ruining their line again. So we just canceled it and got AT&T who again came out the day we called. Now we have cable, phone, and internet with them- couldn't be happier.

Now any time we have a problem or question it is taken care of right away.

Our issues with Comcast were over service and fixing things when they did have problems, not the frequency of issues. Our service was generally ok but when there was a problem they were not good about fixing it or easy to deal with on the phone to get the service setup, etc.
