Which is the better deal with my dates in mind- 4 to 7 or $500 question?

Please help me figure out the best deal- I need to be at WDW from 5/6 through 5/10 = 4 nights. Two adults and one three year old.

I can stay longer for the 7 for 4 deal- it just sits wrong to me to stay for 4 nights when I could get 7 for the same price not counting food.

If I use the 7 for 4 at a value resort, I arrive on Sunday night and leave the next Sunday- this includes my dates plus three extra days to play.

Here's the question:

So, please use your expertise and help me figure this out- I read on another post that the $500 offer in extended until June 6.

My Dad is coming with me- he got a pin card in the mail with the $500 gift card for a 5 night 6 days deal like $594 per adult for check-ins Sun through Thursday stays-

***but it's not going to cover my dates- this offer also come outs about the same EXCEPT we'll have $500 to spend at the parks- can I extend it for 7 days? Or do I need to pay for the 2 nights that I need to be at WDW ( I have a child performing on either Friday or Sat- we're waiting for the confirmed date and time.
Thanks for your help! :teacher:

Bumping for an "expert"

I know some of you are very versed in the discounts offered- I really need your help to figure this out- please

Hi daydreamer. :)

Without your dates, it's a little tough to know which is the best deal. It will also depend on your resort choice. If you're looking for a deluxe, I think you're going to find that the 7 for 4 is a better deal. With a value resort, I think your PIN code might be the better deal. With a moderate - I think they may price out pretty closely.

Probably the easiest way to figure it out is to plug your trip specs in at disneyworld.com. Try once using the regular booking engine. I think with the PIN for $500, you're going to pay full price for everything and just receive your gift card when you check in. The regular booking engine is right on the front page at disneyworld.com. Just subtract $500 from whatever your total is.

The one thing to keep in mind is that Disney has a completely separate inventory for their discount promotions. So when you're pricing out for the $500 gift card, what you see may not be available. For that reason, it may be better to give them a call.

Then, plug in your dates using the 7 for 4 pricing. The special booking engine for the 7 for 4 deal can be found here. That way you'll know for sure.

Hope that makes sense! :)

Thanks for the information- we would like the cheapest so this trip stay will be in a value- we stayed at AKL last year and loved the balconies but can't afford it this time.

I listed my dates in the first post-

I have to be at wdw 5/6 through the 10th- I'm already paying for at least 4 nights straight out- I can add the 7 for 4 and arrive on the 3rd of May ( Sun) and leave the same date of the 10th- for the same price :surfweb:

I'm wondering if I would come out better doing the $500 ( has to be at least a 5 night stay-) or if the deal could be moved for check-in on Tues - May 5th for the start of the five nights?
I don't usually have any problems with the discounts but this one has me in a knot.

I guess I'll have to call reservations BUT they will not offer a better deal- only what I ask about- I need to get my numbers set before the call-

BTW: I noticed your Buffalo location :thumbsup2 My husband just relocated to Cheektowaga, temporarily, until June, when we will all join him somewhere in the area- we are house hunting right now to move the family this summer.

He's the new ECMC Financial Director. :yay: I'll miss Georgia's weather but the pay was right and we are excited about moving to the snowy north!

Good heavens! Never thought I'd see Cheektowaga pop up here on the DIS! I live in Cheektowaga, too. :) VERY small world! (And I mean that literally - once you've moved here, you'll see that it's VERY small up here! Six degrees of separation becomes three degrees of separation in the Buffalo area! :))

In any event - in terms of your discount...

I think the best thing for you to do is call. Without having the promotion in front of me, I can't say for sure - but 90% of the time, the dates of the promotion refer to the date by which you have to check in. Meaning if the discount ends on May 10th, but you check in for 5 nights on the 7th - you'd still be eligible.

Price yourself out on the 7 for 4 deal. Then call and try your TRUE dates with your PIN. If that doesn't work, try alternate dates to see if you can fit into the terms of the promotion and what the price would be.

Disney's soon going to be taking your money. Don't give them your sanity too!!!! :teeth:

Yes, Buffalo seems to be one big city instead of little towns mixed here and there. I've stayed in Cheektowaga with my DH for two, one week stays since he relocated. I love all the fast food places- we have loads of them in our area in Georgia and depend on them often.

I will give WDW a call and see what I can find out- anyway- thanks for your interest and help.

I just wanted to say have a great time, have fun and enjoy in your upcoming trip. Hope you get a great deal. Looking forward in hearing more from you after you came back.

Have a nice and safe trip. :)

Ok, I did some math for you. I am assuming that these dates/resorts will be available for your pin code since I have no way to check that.

Here we go...

2 adults 1 child (3)

May 5th-10th (5 nts) w/ $500 pin code
Pop Century Resort (Std Room)
6 day tickets
$1300.86
- $500
= $800.86

May 3rd-10th (7nts) w/ $500 pin code
Pop Century Resort (Std room)
8 day tickets
$1557.31
-$500
= $1057.31

May 3rd-10th (7nts) w/ Buy 4 Get 3
pop Century Resort (Std Room)
8 Day Tickets
$1150.07

So looks like it would be close. One thing to consider is that the $500 gift card is only good for purchases and cannot be used towards the room charges, so you technically pay more for the room, but bring home a bunch of souvenirs or it pays for food. If it were me, I would go with the Buy 4 Get 3, because I would rather pay less for my room, but to each his own. Hope this helps!

WOW- thanks a ton for working this out for me- I really appreciate it. I think I will go with the 7 for 4 package!

Anyone know-

if I book the package, and my oldest son finds out that he can join us the last two days of the trip -

can I just add his name to the room at the front desk so he can have extended hours and a room key, without adding 7 days of tickets?- he already has tickets from a previous trip???
