Which is scarier, Hulk or Dragons?

I will be at US/IOA for the first time Wednesday-Sunday! :teeth: No one in my family will ride the roller coasters with me. :( I'm very apprehensive about riding them alone, but I know if I don't do it I will regret it. I was hoping to ride the less scary coaster first, to ease myself into riding the scarier one. But they both look terrifying! Does anyone have an opinion on which one is easier to ride first?

If you're a bit apprehensive then ride Dragons first but whatever you do make sure you ride Hulk when your there.

I love The Hulk the start of the ride is incredable and also the little bit waiting for you at the end when you think it's all over.

:jester:

My first few trips I was terrified to ride either as I also had to ride alone. Yes I did regret it every tip too. Third time was a charm and I did Hulk first. I was very surprised at how much I loved it after riding and how smooth it was. Dragons was scarier to me. After riding both I will do Hulk again and again but have had my fill of Dragons...just too intense for me. Maybe if someone rides and holds my hand...
Good Luck and GO FOR IT! Have Fun:)

I like Dragons a whole lot more. I don't really like coasters because I hate the feeling my stomach gets when you go down a hill. On Dragons I don't get that feeling at all, but on Hulk I do. I think it has to do with hanging below the track and the angle of the hill. I have only done the Hulk a few times, and every time I am very dizzy by the time I get off, but I don't get that feeling at all on Dragons.

I love coasters and love both of these rides, but if I had to choose one I would choose Dragons. I agree that Hulk has a great beginning but I prefer Dragons, especially if you're on the inside of the ride so you're next to the other coaster.

I have to cast my vote for Hulk! It's a very smooth ride. When I was there at the end of August, I rode the Fire Dragon with my boys - when I got off, I was almost bouncing off the walls, I was so disoriented (needless to say, I passed on riding Ice!). I don't have this sense of disorientation with the Hulk - it's just a fast, smooth, fun ride! I was able to ride it a number of times without any problems.

...easy....when you walkin the park the first Ride you will see is the Hulk...Walk right on ride it and your fear of coasters will be sloved. Then when you get to DD just walk straight on again..don't sit there and watch the coaster that only leads to more fear.

Thanks for the advice, everyone, although it seems to be a mixed bag! You know how some people will run and jump right into a pool, and some people walk down the steps verrrrry slowly...I take a few minutes on every step. But once I'm in, I'm so glad to be in! It's the same thing with the coasters. I know that if I can find the courage to ride it once, I will love it and want to do it over and over! I'm leaning towards riding Hulk first at this point. The way it's described it seems like a pleasant and smooth ride. I guess we'll see on Wednesday. (The young woman with the black cat tattoo on her arm throwing up at the Hulk exit will be me! ;) )

as stated the launch of HULK is great, but i find Dragons to be a bit more intense that Hulk:smooth:

I would definitely ride DD first. It is more of a traditional Rollercoaster. They are both intense but the actual ride (not the slow going up the hill) is longer on The Hulk and the BLAST OFF on the Hulk can be terrifying. I love rollercoasters and find Hulk one of the most intense and longer rollercoasters.

Enjoy them both and make sure to ride both Fire and Ice on Dragons as they are two very distinct experiences. If you go directly to DD at open you will be able to ride both over and over for quite some time. Most people enter the park and head left to Marvel Island and you can enjoy DD with a few of the true fanatics. My DW and I rode it three times in a row in the front and could of done it many more times if she hadn't felt dizzy.

Enoy and ride the both!!!

As many have said above, I too find Hulk to be a much smoother ride and would choose it over Dragons everytime. Dragons gives me a headache, no matter how much I try and keep my head still, it still gets knocked about in the seat.

The scariest is DD-Fire. I'ld say it is a toss up between DD-ice and Hulk as to which is the best first coaster. Hulk's start up is intense but it doesn't give you that slow time up the first hill to get you nervous either. I also think you might feel more secure on hulk. The feeling of your feet hanging on DD can be a little un-nerving.

I personally find Dragons scarier, of course the themeing in the castle doesn't help there....

I dont' like dangling feet coasters, but I am getting better. I love the launch at Hulk.. I think its great, and my feet don't dangle!

Hulk isn't scary to me but DD was.

But I did get to ride Ice with Barry, who was very great to me!
