hi all! so we are planning our next trip to disneyland for early October. I've been on getawaytoday and lastminutetravel, and just not sure which hotel to choose. it will be me, my DW, and our 4 1/2 year DD, so i want a nice place, but reasonably priced. preferably within walking distance of DLR. castle inn, quality inn, anaheim inn? please help me, all suggestions welcome. i don't necessarily have to purchase the full package from either site, i can get the tix from them, and then if the hotel is reasonable, i'll book it separately. or if someone else can suggest other sites as well, that'd be great. thanks fellow DISneylanders!

check out Costco tarvel for a package...they have some good prices and include a Caracter meal your daughter might like.

It sounds like you are looking for cheap and close. Try to work free breakfast and parking into the equation too.

I have always had good luck at Candy Cane Inn. I checked a couple of dates in early October on their website - if you have AAA, use the DIS promo code. You could get a standard 2 queen room for $113 per night.

They have a really nice pool area and hot tub, provide a nice complimentary breakfast, their own shuttle and free parking! :thumbsup2 Its about a 7 minute walk to the DL/DCA main entrance.

The rooms aren't huge, but have always been plenty of room for us. There is also a small fridge and coffee maker in the room. The vanity area is separate from the bathroom and shower. And as far as I could tell, the room was always pretty clean and in good shape.

We stayed here the past 4 trips to DLR and always loved it.

Have fun!

We've been happy with our stays at the Best Western Park Place inn and Mini Suites and also the Desert Inn and Suites. Both are right at the crosswalk to the entrance to the parks so at most a 5 minute walk. Both have a carb heavy continental breakfast as well. They both charge for parking though but thats getting to be fairly common.

Hi there - I stayed at the Stovall's this past week and liked it. By booking directly through the site, I got a AAA rate of $101 a night, including all taxes and fees (I did not have a car - would add $8/night).

The Stovall's was exactly 15 minutes walking from my room at the very back of the hotel to the secruity gate at the Esplanade to get into the parks. It was 6 minutes to cross Katella and get to the front of Paradise Pier. Also, two family style restaurants, Cocos and Tiffy's, are right next to the hotel. Nice if you don't want park fare, or if you want a nice big breakfast/brunch.

Pros: all rooms have a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, there is a very generous continental breakfast each day, the rooms are being upgraded with flat screen tvs, and the walk past Paradise Pier and through the Grand Californian was much more scenic (IMO) than the walk down Harbor on the other side of the resort.

Cons: my room was a bit damp - I think this may be because of the older window unit style air conditioner the room had.

I just - I mean just barely booked Best Western Stovall's from LMT! Thanksgiving weekend - Wed-Sat for $65 a night!! Have you seen this fantastic tip *I knew I was getting Stovall's before purchasing "blindly"*

Weird question, but were you able to specify a non-smoking room when you booked? The reason I ask is because I'd book this deal in a second if I could be sure I'd not be stuck in a stinky room!

Do they have smoking rooms?? That seems crazy - does any hotel in Anaheim offer such rooms? I'll check out the website and if it's not clear there I'll make a call.

ETA - my goodness they do have smoking rooms -*-*- *look under Guest Room Accommodations - however I just got off the phone with Stovall's Inn *the 714 #* and we are in a non smoking 2 queen *I thought for sure we'd have doubles* room!!

Yep, there are several hotels in the area that have smoking rooms...and even when I DID smoke, I'd ask for a non-smoking room  because I didn't smoke indoors ever. I guess not having to go outside to smoke would be a perk to those who don't mind it, though :confused3

Wow, that's great that they already know which room you'll be in! Thanks for checking about this for me :hippie:

No problem ~ I'm glad I checked, thanks for mentioning the chance.... I'm guessing we got 2 Qs because I did 4 adults instead of 2 Adults & 2 Children ages _ & _.....
