Hi all,

I'm just curious as to which has the better pool, Bay Lake or Contemporary?

I haven't stayed at Contemporary since I was a kid so I really don't remember it. I liked the pool at Bay Lake when we stayed there a few years ago. To me it seemed on the smaller side (when compared to other Disney properties that we have stayed at). I remember it being packed & crowded in early afternoon times (we always go in August).

I would like to possibly stay at Bay Lake again - and correct me if I am wrong if you are staying at Bay Lake you can use the pool at the Contemporary. I was wondering if it is worth the trek over to swim there?

Thanks,
Marina :)

Each time we've stayed at BLT, we've walked over to the Contemporary pool mainly because it gets sun in the afternoon. We don't like to swim in the shade! It's not even a 5 min. walk over and it is never busy or crowded in the afternoons. I think we used the BLT pool the first time we stayed there, that's it.

We stayed at BLT last year and thought the pool was fine. I have stayed at the Contemporary before and thought the pool was better at BLT. If you are staying at BLT you can walk over the the CR pool. I would not walk over from BLT to there just for the pool. I really don't think it is that much better. They are close enough if you want to though it would not be a huge issue.

while I love BLT - don't like the pool - it is too small - so you can easily be splashed, kicked, grabbed (all accidentally) - it is also was to shallow - think the CR still has a real pool. It also has one that is open 24 hours - both the main pool at CR and BLT pool close when the life guards leave.

As a solo adult going to the pool, I always opt for the Contemporary pool area when staying at BLT. It is much more relaxed, and usually fewer children. I really wish they would do the whole pool party thing every other day or on some other kind of schedule, as opposed to every day, because it really makes it hard to relax. I enjoyed the pools just fine before they starting doing that. I agree that the BLT pool area seems small, and the fence just accentuates that. Also I think the Sand Bar has a better menu if you want a quick bite to eat.
