Which first, Splash Mountain or Space Mountain?

We haven't been on Space Mountain in years but DS decided that he'd like to try it and that's fine with me. We normally hit the other two mountains first thing in the morning and then head over to Peter Pan. I'm not sure if we should ride Space Mountain first instead and then go over to Frontierland afterwards. Any thoughts?

By the way, we tend to get fastpasses for later on if we can and ride things early without them. We'll be at MK next month on a Saturday.

I love all 3, so that is a tuffy for me. I think I would go to Space & get the fast pass, then ride it while there. That line always seems to get longer than the other 2.. unless it just happens to be the day I am there ;) After that, head on over to the others.

Based on your upcoming trips, we should get there after you. :rotfl:

I think that we'll probably do SM first because I remember 1+ hour lines for that one.

It feels weird not knowing what to do first! It's kind of fun. :)

Space first. Lines build up quicker as it is nearer to the entrance of the park so it makes sense for everyone to go there first. Get a FP if you want to ride twice, riding it once first then head to Splash and finally BTMR.

I'm going to go against the grain and say do Splash and Thunder first. Reason being, you can knock out 2 of the Big 3 in the morning before lines build. Later in the morning make your way over to Space and get a Fast Pass for just the one. There's plenty of attractions there that usually have little to no wait while you pass the time till you can return (TTA, Stitch, Monsters Inc)

Space first definitely the FP's will be gone faster and the stand-by line will definitely be longer than Splash or BTMRR. Its been years since I've rode Space mountain myself and I cant wait to do it this Oct/Nov.

i would do space first as well..the line for it, in my experience, has always been much longer than for splash later on in the day

Tomorrowland is generally more crowded than Frontierland in the morning.

If you get there right at the rope drop or soon after, I'd go to Space Mountain first, grab a FP and get in the standby line before the majority of the crowd can get over there. Then travel over to Frontierland/Adventureland.

If you get there some time after opening, I'd just do Splash and BTMRR first. You can always get a FP for Space a little later...besides, Tomorrowland is really awesome at night. :cutie:

Tough one. On our last trip the decision was an easy one, Space was closed, so we just went immediately to Splash & BTMRR.

This yr I think I might send dh off to get us FPs at Space & we will meet him at the back Mtns. So by the time we are done riding them, it should be well enough long that we could FP either Splash or BTMRR before making our way back over to Space.

Im a big fan of both but deffinitly space the FP will be gone much faster or get a face pass forspace and hurry and go o splash maybe?:confused3

I'd get FPs for Splash, ride Peter and then SM. But, my family is a bit different. We always start off at the tea cups. So, I will end up getting our FPs for Splash later in the day. I watch DH and the two oldest ride the teacups, go get FPs for Peter, then we do rides in Tomorrowland (including SM), next we head to Fantasyland and then, finally, Frontierland later in the day. And if I have to get FPs for Splash, head to Advetureland and then back to use them: so be it! LOL

Have a wonderful time!

Agree. This is what we usually do.

Also, if it's your son's first time on Space, it might be good to let him "work up to it" by doing Big Thunder and Splash first.

I would do Space first, then run to Frontierland (or walk as quickly as you can ;) ) and ride Splash then Thunder. Or grab a FP for Splash and ride Thunder.

The big problem with doing Splash first is that it is a LONG ride. By the time you've snaked through the long queue (even if it's empty) and then ridden and made your way off the ride, you could have wasted 20 minutes or more, while meanwhile the lines at Space are getting longer and longer and the Fast Pass return times are getting later and later!

Yeppers.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We always go to Splash first and work our way over to Space. We ride Thunder, visit Fantasyland and then get FPs for Space. It always works out, the return times are never later than 12. We kill time in Tomorrowland and get lunch if there's time :)

I see both alternatives and they both sound good. We always go to Splash first so we might just be different and try Space first this time.

Son has ridden everything at WDW except Space Mountain! When he was ready it was closed and I haven't been on it for more years than I can remember. This should be fun. :)
