We just got home from SSR and have decided that we are going back to Disney in May...

Which resort would you decide on for your 2nd trip.. I am wanting to try them all ;) . I loved SSR, but the bus system was a bit disappointing.., course I loved the rooms (we had a 2br)..

We will only be getting a 1br this time for 4 of us, so the couch will have to be used this time.. We have thought BCV, because its within walking to Epcot, but have heard the rooms are in need of refurbishment..

thoughts?

We stayed at BCV last June and had a wonderful room, 3rd floor overlooking the quiet pool. We like to stay at either the BCV or the BWV in June because we can walk to Epcot and DS, plus the pools are great, AND there is wonderful food on the boardwalk. Have a wonderful trip!!:)

As a pround owner of the Villas at Wilderness Lodge that get my vote. I love the proximity to the MK (5 min boatride) and buses have been pretty good. The villas has a cozyiness to them and the lobby is grand. I love walking over to the campgrounds on the nature walk. Have a great time.

All of the resorts are fantastic. We own & love BWV. Entertainment & people watching along the boardwalk is fantastic. If you stay at BCV, it is easy to walk over to the boardwalk also.

If you are trying to avoid the busses then VWL, BCV, BWV are definitely the first choice. I stayed in BCV in August (studio) and the room was in good shape and the convertible sofa’s were the best I have seen

We absolutely LOVED our stay at VWL...just beautiful. Buses ran pretty good too. We also LOVE AKV...buses there are the BEST plus there's Boma for fantastic dining.... BOTH have oodles & oodles of atmosphere so I'd recommend either one of those!:goodvibes

(PS) where in MD are you? we are in upper Montgomery Co.....

If you want to avoid busses, I would definitely try BWV or BCV. You actually can't take a bus to Epcot or Hollywood Studios from these resorts. The only form of transportation is the boat. You can also walk. It is a very close walk to Epcot. We usually just walk over to Epcot and take the boat to Hollywood Studios.

We were at BCV in September and the rooms were fine. Probably could have used a little bit of updating however the 1 Bedroom we were in did have Granite countertops. The location is 2nd to none if you plan on enjoying evenings in Epcot.

The one thing about Buses and BCV is that the route is shared with BW, Swan and Dolphin. While you can walk or take the boat to DHS or Epcot, the buses can take a while for the others.

If MK is more your style, VWL are also great! We love that resort too. Very Peaceful! I have never stayed at BWV so I cannot comment on condition.

Good Luck.

We love them all! I would recommend BWV - we had such a nice sofa bed! And you get such a different experience, given the proximity to parks and the different resort style! But be prepared: if you must ride buses, the bus service was pretty slow at BWV - and shares with Swan/Dolphin. We had a car, so it wasn't an issue.
You can't go wrong, IMO. I have not tested out all the sofas:rotfl: , but we were SO impressed with the ones at BWV, we went an bought a memory foam mattress! It was great!:thumbsup2

I have stayed at SSR twice because I had developer points but I bought into AKV cause that is where I want to stay and I have two trips booked there next year. I honestly bought at AKV so I could stay there and with the exception of VWL I have no desire to stay at the other DVC resorts.

My DW and I just love AKV, but I think we would like to try BCV out next chance we get.

It all depends on what park you like to spend the most time at. We love EPCOT and wind up there the majority of the time so we love BCV (one of our home bases) and BWV. It's a 10-15 minute walk over to World Showcase and I love getting up in the morning and walking "the loop" from one resort to the other (and making a stop at the bakery). If you like MK than VWL (our other home base) is great. Boat ride over to MK. OKW has bigger rooms. AKV has the animals. Beautiful place but we felt it was too far from the parks. All the resorts have a great atmosphere so you really can't go wrong. It may also depend on what resort has the availability for when you want to go if you have to book at the 7 month window and what time of year it is. You can't go wrong with any of them!

Our home resort is BCV's which we love. Last time I was there (May) my room was perfect.
WLV's is my number one favorite. I love the theme and the boat ride over to MK always makes my day.

Seriously? No buses to either of these parks from both of these resorts? Wow. I had no idea. I would think that would make it more difficult for elderly visitors and families with small children if they depend on the rented strollers etc.:confused3

When we stayed at the Swan last year, our bus shared with YC/BC and BW but I don't remember if it was just for MK/AK or for all, but the boat was so much nicer/faster, and so was the walk..

I think the only hard thing is trying to get to the front of Epcot from any of the Boardwalk area resorts, then, yes, it's a quite a walk to the Friendship Boat dock that takes you around the Boardwalk resorts. Sometimes I do wish there was a bus from the Monorail area of Epcot to the Boardwalk resorts.

PS. To answer the question of a resort to pick, why don't you try either BWV or BCV.

I think we are going to stick with BCV this trip... I am really thinking I would love to stay at each of them and plan to make that the future of my visits. :)

I have to say that I love Epcot at the end of my day... and we have stayed at the Beach Club before, but not the villas...

The pool is a big draw and the ease of walking to Epcot and taking a boat to MK/MGM (yes I still use that name).

For those who have stayed at the villas my question would be how are the couch beds? I have a 19 and 11 yr old that will have to use them.

:thumbsup2
Beach Club!!!

We own at SSR...our 2nd DVC trip brought us to
the BWV...and loved the proximity to EPCOT, quick
boat ride to Hollywood Studios, Boardwalk nightlife,
surrey bikes and just the overall ambience of the
area...it was alot of fun! Oh, don't forget about
the eateries...Flying Fish, Beaches & Cream, The
Yachtman's Steak House etc.

Seems like you'd like to stay somewhere on the
opposite side of the spectrum...this would do it.
Good luck!

Love OKW but also would love to stay at the Beach Club one day. I love the laid-back attitude at OKW, and also really enjoy the Jimmy Buffett tunes on the bus! The landscaping is beautiful, rooms are spacious and love parking at your door if needed. Just my opinion!

We also have stayed at the Boardwalk, really enjoyed our stay there as well, but we were in a studio and I didnt' like the "hotel room" feel of it. I'm sure a 1BR or 2BR are completely different, so I am trying to not let that sway my opinion of BWV!
