Which DVC resorts most convenient to Universal?

SSR would be closest but it really doesnt matter which dvc resort you stay at. All you need to do is get on I-4 and head east, usually about 10-15 minute drive but could be longer depending on traffic

I'll add the the convenience of being able to park next to your room at SSR or OKW will likely be appreciated after a long day off-site.

You may want to consider staying on-site at Universal if you're headed there: on-site Universal guests get "front of the line" access at all of the rides.....kind of like having a fast pass for every ride all day every day! Several times we've arranged our schedule to spend Friday and Saturday nights at Hard Rock Hotel or one of the other Universal resorts.....that gets us FOTL and avoids having to pay DVC points on expensive weekend nights. Only downside is those Disney lines can feel much more frustrating after you've had the luxury of FOTL!

I'm going to second this! Every year we spend eight days at Disney and on the 9th we head over to the HRH. We then spend 4-5 days there on the club level! The FOTL is the bomb, you can easily do both parks in a day (not recommended by me, I do one a day and lounge at a cabana the rest of the time). You can buy FOTL passes, but it's $35 or more per person and you can only use it once per ride. The hotel key is a FOTL for an entire day, no restrictions. We rode the mummy one year, when the line was 90 minutes, twice within like 20 minutes! That is no lie. We were stunned. I think that was our first year there. We also love the atmosphere at the HR.

The lines at Universal can get really long without FOTL. I haven't done the Universal Hotel stay (and I've only been to Universal for private parties), but should we do the Universal trip with our kids in the future, we will DEFINATELY be doing two days at Portofino. (My husband has stayed at Portofino and loved it).
