Hey guys, going the middle of September. We have resv. at Carribean Beach, but which do you think is better between it and Riverside. We have stayed at River before and thought it was alright. Thanks:hourglass

I really liked Riverside because it was much easier for me to find my way around. We did not like CB at all! In fact, it too a lot for me to convice DH to return to Disney after our stay at CB.

I did not like Riverside. IMHO it felt like some of those buildings looked like cheap southern apt buildings. Plus the standard view is normally full on parking lot.

CB I love. It's my fav mod. The rooms are bigger, there are TONS of pools and hammocks on the beach :) Plus all of my standard views there have had at worst a "partial" parking lot view. (I think it was built before Disney got quite so cheap! LOL!)

It's been awhile since we've stayed at CBR but years ago we LOVED it. We've stayed at POR twice and thought it was fantastic. Love the grounds, the boat to DTD and Piano Bob, the horse and carriage rides. I think it's the nicest of the moderates actually.

We like POR better than CBR, but I can't disagree with the apt. building look comment. We like the boat option to DTD from POR, and the atmosphere/theming, better than CBR. We felt CBR was too large and spread out.

But, since you have stayed at POR and not CBR, I'd say stick with CBR this trip. They're both moderates, and you'll have a good basis for comparison when planning future visits. Both are fine, it's just a matter of preference. I'd say expand your resort experiences and try CBR.

It's hard to really compare them. I liked them both for different reasons. CBR is bright and colorful with a tropical air to it. The rooms are beautiful, again decorated with bright colors. We were in Martinique, so we were close to everything.

POR was wonderful as well. The grounds are more sedate and peaceful. The mansion rooms are elegantly decorated. The boat to DTD is a plus. And we were no more than a five minute walk from anything.

Honestly, we would stay at either one again in a heartbeat.

if you dont mind me asking; Are you taking kids or is it just an adult trip?!?
We loved loved loved POR so much... Everything about it was perfect (to us) but I am the type of person that has to try everything once to really make up my mind on which I like better. If you stayed at CBR before why not give POR a try! :) :goodvibes

I'm not a fan or New Orleans, so the Orleans resorts don't do much for me. That said, I stayed in both and both were fine. I really thought I'd hate them and didn't at all. They're pretty enough.

But, I prefer the happy colors and tropical theme at CBR. :) So, that's where I'd stay.

POFQ has the New Orleans - Mardi Gras theming.

POR has the Louisiana/Mississippi River - Bayou and Southern Mansion theming.

You really can't lump the two together.

I love them both. I like PORS pool better though as it is bigger and has a secluded hot tub and plenty of water features. I prefer the room decor of CBR though as it is Carribean and bright and the buildings are prettier. POR does have a boat to DD though.

POR, better gift shop, better food court and my friend Gray is the bartender there

I have stayed at both and prefer Caribbean Beach. I really like that theme.

POR! Stayed they twice and thought it was great. POR is spread out enough to give you a feel that it is not overcrowded, has nice pools and good food. Great resort to take casual strolls, boat ride to DTD is great.

Another vote for CBR!! Its our favorite!! Going back the 16th:banana:  . Its all about the theme for us!

Very well said, I agree with you.:thumbsup2

I really love POR, it's my favorite resort. I find the theming very appealing and the landscaping is just lovely. It's a very tranquil place.

I don't really care for CBR, the theming leaves me cold and I find the bright colors rather garish.

CBR hands down!!! We like everything about CBR better than POR.
