Whole Foods here makes a wonderful, fresh goat cheese ravioli that I love. Trader Joe's used to make one too, but they discontinued it. Both of these are dressed with a simple, but flavorful extra virgin olive oil.
I also like pumpkin or butternut squash or a good portobello mushroom ravioli. All of these in a white cream sauce.
I'm not into meat ravioli. If I'm going to have meat with pasta, I'd rather have a hearty, thick, meat bolognese sauce smothering the pasta.
I don't care for toasted ravioli. If I'm at a restaurant and going to have that many fried carbs, I'd rather have something like toasted wontons or something in a puff pastry, (if there is a choice.)
Two or three times a year I buy ravioli from the refrigerated case near the supermarket. Cheese, spinach, mushroom, or whatever appeals to me that day.
I liked canned ravioli as a kid and into college age but won’t touch it now.
I love ravioli of almost any kind. Usually cheese but I will eat meat too (Canned ones mostly for the meat ones) If I make them at home they are frozen and cheese usually although I have done spinach and cheese, chicken, etc. I have had dreams about the Mezzaluna Ravioli at Carabba's (they are chicken and spinach) and as much as I would like to try more things on their menu I can't not get it if I go there, LOL.
