HI all I was just wondering which of the two Disney water parks is best Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach? :rockband:

For slides Blizzard Beach, for the wave pool Typhoon Lagoon.

My favourite is Typhoon Lagoon.

Hello,

The slides are definitely better at Blizzard Beach so if you have thrill seekers go there! They are both well themed (BB is a ski resort and TL a tropical paradise) but my personal favourite is Typhoon Lagoon. I love the theme.

If you have children, both have great areas for kids. My DD's (at the time age 3 & 6) preferred the one at TL but both are excellent.

There are good slides at TL (just not as good as at BB), but the wave pool is fantastic. Also the Shark Reef is an interesting diversion for a bit.

So I'm in agreement with Chunkster!!

Sorry, should have also said that the parks always shut for a few months in winter for refurbishment, so depending on when you are going, the decision may be made for you. They never shut both parks at once though! There's always one left open.

I'm not aware that Disney has said which park is shutting at which time for refurb this year - it was always the same park at the same every year till last year and then they swapped them (rumour has it to begin foundations for a eally cool new experience at TL)

Thanks we are going away in a couple of weeks Hurray:bounce: have girl of 8years and son of 14yr (who does not want to go away!!) have already aranged Discovery Cove but wanted something to try and please both of them!

Have you all checked the rumours board? Apparently work has begun on the new water coaster ride at TL and is visible! Sounds exciting.

We prefer TL as a relaxing day away from the theme parks. I love going round and round castaway creek in those tubes. Pure Bliss!

I don't think it's fair to say one is "better" than the other, each have their strong points. Without doubt BB has by far the better slides, the family raft ride is outstanding !!!, but it's wave pool is a poor and distant second best when compared to TL. TL still has some pretty decent slides and if they are not regulars at waterparks then TL is going to have plenty of thrills for them. If your son likes (is a strong) swimming then he's probably enjoy swimming out into the deep water of the wave pool at TL and try to bodysurf in on the waves. Again if he's confident int he water he'll enjoy shark reef as this is a great chance to see marine life up very close and the sharks are just big enough to get anyones pulse going if they get close to you :o .

Taken as a pair I would say TL has more to offer them, it also has more established shade and better sunbathing for you ( if that's of interest) .

Thankyou for all your thoughts on this matter, as time is limited it helps to find the water park best suited to my whole family and relaxation is just as important to us as all the excitement.so i think it will be TL as first choice and if any spare time then BB.
Thanks again
