which days are best for which parks NOW?

Ugh. I am happy for every DIS-er that these ticket and EMH changes will be good for, but not only will our ticket prices be higher (and that is with expiry dates on them!), but it is our first off-site trip ever, and now we will have to rearrange our daily schedule due to the new EMH hours. And as we are well inside our PS window, all that has to be changed, too. Double UGH!

So here's my question: since all the info in the WDW guidebooks and TourGuide Mike and everything else is totally out of date, can anyone offer suggestions on whether non-site guests should continue to avoid EMH parks altogether for that day? Or would it be safe to do a morning at an evening EMH park? I need to make these changes FAST.

Thanks!

I think the new ticket structure and EMH (evening and morning) will definitely affect the attendance of parks on those days. I think it remains to be seen just how much though. The big factor is the park hopping issue. Will lots of people not want to pay that extra fee? Will resort guests be willing to give it up though? It's pretty much all they've known now for years.

But we already know that Early Magic Hour affects crowd levels for the *entire day* in the park that offers it. And that's with most of those people having the ability to park hop if they so choose. But the fact of the matter is that not all people hop on out....the crowd levels at MK are up *all* day on EHH days.

The Later magic hours will do the same thing. With the current system, the crowds would probably begin later in the day...because guests could hop over from another park. Now, if some of those guests don't buy the hopper option and they want to spend time at the extended hours....they'll only have that one park to spend their day in. That's not to say that they aren't haning by the pool, or using pluses (if they purchases them), but I think this new system sets up the potential for very large crowds at the EMH park of the day.

Personally, I'd avoid them altogether. I would visit a park that had EMH the day before....and stick with that plan.

For me, the big issue is when to go to the Magic Kingdom. I hope the other parks will sort themselves out.

This is how it breaks down for my week in early February:

Monday - Spectromagic, avoid MK
Tuesday - normal day
Wednesday - evening EMH, avoid MK
Thursday - Spectromagic, avoid MK
Friday - morning EMH, avoid MK
Saturday/Sunday - avoid MK

I think Tuesday should have the lightest crowds at the Magic Kingdom, at least during my week.

This is good advice. Thank you!

and I agree trstno1 -- MK is the big issue for us too.

This is silly -- but "MK on Wed and Fri" has been our tradition for 3 years running and I am sad to see it go!
