Which day would be less crowded?

Nothing written in stone of course, but I know WDW and could predict the best day, DL, not so much.

Our choices are Thursday June 12 or Tuesday June 17th. Both days have fireworks, Th is open until 9:00 and Tues until midnight. We would not be staying that late anyway, so the hours don't matter so much. Am I reight to assume that they expect more crowds the week of the 16th and that is why they are open longer? We have one day for DL and are off season WDWers so I would like to have as little crowds as we can. Other question, are they closing at 9:00 because of Grad Night and will that effect the regular part of the day?

A quick peak at the DL calendar shows DL closing at 9PM on both the 11th and 12th. Both those days have grad night. That means (usually) no Magic Morning on Thursday the 12th (Thursdays are usually MM days). If I did not care about staying after 9PM anyways, and I did not have MM priviliges, I would choose June 12. You will have lighter morning crowds without MM and less crowds in general as many SoCal schools will not be out yet.

I would choose Thursday because most schools get out that next week. But be wary- it's a grad night, so the parks might be busy!!

That is exactly the type of info I needed. Thank you so much! Now I just have to decide if we can handle DL one day and LegoLand the next. We've done WDW parks on consecutive days so I think we'll be fine.

I do not why the previous poster said this. As far as I know the day preceding a grad night is not any more crowded. If anything it would be less crowded as people with a choice of which day to visit would avoid it because of reduced hours and reduced entertainment.

We've gone on many a day when there was a grad night. It has never affected crowd levels. The grads are bused in later that night, after everyone is gone. So that isn't a factor at all.

I'd go with the 12th, a lot of schools will still be in. Where the 17th a lot will be out!

That is what I thought and why I was so confused. I was at a grad night waaaayyyy back in my life and I knew the park was closed before we all got there.

Now, to find a book that will give me a good touring plan.

If after that read, you need a ride by ride tour plan, then RideMax is probably your best bet.
