Which date for MNSSHP?

Which would be a better day(and less crowded) for the party..Sunday 10/5/14 or Thursday 10/9/14? I am planning, and I just can't decide which to choose!

I can't really help you decide, but those are the dates we're trying to decide between, too! We arrive 10/5, so I'm leaning toward 10/9. Good luck!

We went on a Sunday last year, and were pleased with the crowd levels. Since it is early October, you should be fine either date. We had a fabulous time an absolutely loved the parade. Don't miss it!

Thanks! We went in 2010 and can't wait to go again! October is such a great month to visit!

I actually went to both those dates this past year. The Thursday date actually ended up selling out. Not that that means anything as of course it doesn't mean that date this year will sell out. But I would still recommend the Sunday! Either date you pick will be fine though and you will have a blast!!

We went last year and are going again this year during that week. We went to the Thursday party, which was sold out. However, we had a blast and it isn't nearly as crowded as typical park days. We got in line to watch the parade in Frontierland 15 minutes before it began with a great view from one of the raised platforms on the street, then we backtracked through Adventureland to the walkway in front of Casey's for a great view of the fireworks. We met several characters throughout the night and rode everything (Big Thunder Mountain 3 times in a row since lines were so slow after 1st parade). We arrived at 4:30pm to eat and shop before the party.

I think either date would be fine. I would assume the Sunday party would be less crowded because fewer locals may come, but we had no trouble doing everything we wanted to do and more on a sold out night.

not to hijack the thread, but could someone provide opinions on whether or not to go Monday, October 13 (Columbus Day), or on Thursday, October 16?

Has anyone ever gone to the very first night of MNNSHP? We will be there on 9/9 which is looking like it will be the first night of the party (although there are rumors of a night or two before that one.) Wondering what we might expect crowd wise. It's the only night it will be an option on our trip.
