I am pretty much in charge of the Disneyland leg of our trip, there will be me, my DH and DS3 to please.
Just wondering which character breakfast/s are the best?
My DH just rang me from work and told me that the guy from his work went to all of them, just not sure if i'm prepared to pay close to $100 for breakfast more than once, does that make me tight?? LOL
DS like the mermaids LOL, but also likes goofy, but i'm sure he'd love any that we went to, but where would he get the most out of it?

Goofy's Kitchen is always good. I love the variety of food & the assortment of characters. I go at least once a year & I've only had a mediocre character interaction once. I think your DS will like the different characters and the dancing that the kids get to do.

You can have a character meal ~

At Minnie's ~ in DL, breakfast only. We love this one ~ lots of classic characters.

At Goofy's ~ at the DLH, breakfast and dinner. This one was OK IMO.

Storyteller's ~ at the GCH, breakfast only. We enjoyed this one.

Ariel's ~ in CA, all 3 meals. This one is fun especially if you're into princesses.

Lilo & Stitch ~ at the PPH, breakfast only. The only one we haven't tried yet ~ but we will next month!

You can pre purchase vouchers that can save $$ from Ares ~ http://arestravel.com/77_DisneylandResort.html *under Character Experiences* and GAT ~ http://www.getawaytoday.com/TicketListing.aspx?dest_id=2 *change Type to Dining

For me using the AP discount saves me more than the vouchers.

I vote for Goofy's too. Our older kids loved the food and the younger kids loved the characters. Peter Pan even sat at our table with us and signed a autograph right on the paper table cloth for my Peter Pan fanatic. We saw Baloo, Chip and Dale, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and of course Goofy. All of the grown ups in our party loved the food because it is not just breakfast items. They hadjust about everything you could imagine.

Breakfast is cheaper than lunch or dinner, and our favorite is Minnie and Friends at Plaza Inn. Its the only one thats actually in the park, too. It worked out perfectly for us b/c we got in early with our MM pass, went on all the Fantasyland rides for an hour, then it was time for our reservation. Right when the rest of the park was allowed in and lines were picking up we got to sit down and eat! :) IMO leaving the park and walking back and forth to one of the hotels isnt worth it.

We did not have fun at GK, but we LOVED M&F!! I'd go with that one personally.

Is anyone else besides me a little surprised that Sherry has not replied... this is practically her specialty.

I say Goofy's kitchen. While it is often said that there is better character interaction at M&F, Goofy's buffet is far superior to all the other options.

Hmm, does anybody know what the tax is on character breakfasts. I was looking at the Lilo and Stitch breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children. If I bought the vouchers through GAT the total would be $100 (vouchers include tax and tip).

Using the menus on All Ears where adults are $21.99 and children are $13.99, I get a pre tax pre-tip total of $71.96. I'm going to guess about $9 for tax=$80.96. Even with a generous 20% tip, I still only get a total of less than $97.

Seems like it would save you money only on the more expensive character breakfasts like Ariel's or possibly Goofy's.

Is my thinking off here?

Hi guys, Been to Paris & Orlando, however this will be our 1st trip to DL, CA. How many days out can you make your dining reservations is it the same as Orlando? Minnie & Friends at MK sounds great,Many Thanks Sharon.

I'm with Sherry in the Goofy's fan club.

The only negative experience at any character meal so far for me was Minnie's, but I know many on here love it there.

60 days out. I'm not sure what schedule Orlando is currently on.

Ooh Minnie & Friends at Plaza Inn is our favorite! Second fave is probably Storytellers.

We are going to try Ariel's Breakfast in CA in two weeks and I can't wait to see what that's like. Anyone had breakfast at Ariel's Grotto? What was it like? Is the food about the same as the rest of the breakfast buffet's?

We did GK 2 days ago and there were 7 characters there. GREAT food and needless to say we enjoyed it.

Jack

We love goofys kitchen we are doing that for our 3 years old bday in Oct.

but it might also depend on where you want to start - if you just want to be in the park and not deal with walking through DTD then I would go with the Minnie breakfast...

Enjoy

You're right ~ it's a great deal for Ariel's & Goofy's. Also did you know both Storyteller's and Lilo & Stitch have a menu you can order from. Next month DS will get the childrens buffet @ Storyteller's and DD & I will share the stuffed french toast! DD still eats like a bird. Next month we plan on doing 3 character meals I asked Disney Dining what the prices would be and was told the following ~

Storytellers ~
A- 25 incl. tax & tip *I think
C- 13 inc. tax & tip *I think

Lilo & Stitch ~
A- 27.50 + tip *I think
C- 15.00 + tip *I think

Goofy's Kitchen *Dinner ~
A- 40.00 *for sure incl. tax & tip
C- 17.50 *for sure incl. tax & tip

You could call Disney Dining and ask for yourself ~ 714-781-3463

Sherry's always got the character meal info, she'll be here soon I'm sure. :)
Goofy's buffet is good, no doubt, but if you're going for characters we saw 4. That's NOT enough for that kind of money.

See, our experience was exactly the opposite, we saw hardly any characters at GK but we saw tons at M&Fs. And at GK the characters we did see just walked OUT and never stopped at our table. Our highlight there was Chip playing with the girls and Snow White having remembered seeing us the day before at the Animation Building.

And yes, it's 60 days out at DL for PS. :)

We have done AG for breakfast right after it opened actually. The food was good, nothing spectacular but it was good. You will get a 3 tier tray with pastries, cheeses and spreads, then you get a platter of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes to share with your family, you also get your choice of juice, coffee, tea, milk or whatever you want to drink. You can ask for more if you need it but it served family style so it's just a platter on your table.

I don't mean to threadjack however.....we are looking for a character meal breakfast on October 6th for my ds 8th birthday. We are staying at PPH so I have though about doing Lilo and Stitch for the location. Problem is we are also thinking of doing a Magic Morning that day and I am confused as to what the best option would be. Get an early PS for Lilo and try to make Magic Morning by 9:00am or make Magic Morning and get at PS inside the park for Minnie and Friends.....also is Minnie and Friends too girlie for boys as far as characters go?

We took ds who is 6 to M&F's and he did not think it was too girly at all as far as characters...and I know he would have said something if he thought so! :lmao:

I know the characters vary, but the 13 we saw were: Capt. Hook, Minnie, Daisy Duck, Brer Fox, Tigger, Eeyore, Pooh, Chip, Dale, Rafiki, Fairy Godmother, Baloo, and Max. Ds's faves were Capt. Hook, and the Fairy Godmother...what a combo!

Oh that's different but nice so you don't have to keep getting up and going back to the buffet...more time to see the princesses! YAY! Thanks for the info. :)

The Princesses come to your table just like they do at all the meals at AG, no worries, you'll get to see them all. :)

M&F had plenty of characters, I wouldn't say it's "girly" at all. The only one I would consider "girly" is the one at Ariel's Grotto. :)
