Which Adults Really Get Into the FUN?

I'm about to go on my 10th trip to Disney with my godson (7). I've made 6 trips with adults, and 4 trips with (borrowed) children.

Next September I'm going with my best, and oldest, friend. We met our first day of college nearly 30 years ago. And as we've been planning this, we've been like two kids. When I go alone with children, I have to be the grown up (to an extent). The other adults I went with were, well, adult. But the two of us have the same sense of whimsy and silly fun - and I think we're going to have a great time.

We're going to do Pirate League and Kim Possible - just the two of us (we're not bringing children). And MNSSHP. We want to do afternoon tea at the Grand Floridian - and we're thinking Big Hats, Lace Gloves & maybe Parasols. :cutie: Too much? :cutie:

CRT. Some character meals. Hoop Dee Doo. I just heard that 1900 Park Fare does a fun breakfast.

So - any other chronological "adults" act like kids at Disney? And what do you do? We're still looking for more fun ideas!

Meeee Meeee Meeee! LOL
DH and I are doing a trip just the 2 of us in March and are planning on having a blast. I think your ideas sound perfect! We are excited about evening EMH, hanging out by the pool, park hopping, EVERYTHING!!!

Once you cross the boundary of WDW (the purple signs) you are kids again!

I speak from experience, took a good friend of mine for his first trip and we had a blast.

Demographics? Me, 51 yrs old at the time, my friend 48.

Feel free to have a good time, that's what Uncle Walt opened the parks for!:thumbsup2

Hoop De Doo is the best too!

It's too bad the Adventurer's Club closed down. I think we would've practically lived there. We plan on doing Jellyrolls & Raglan Road...but it's not the same. Not by a long shot. :sad2:

At least I got to do it in the past, but this is her first Disney (or even Florida) trip. Bummer. She would've loved that place. :sad1:

Did you ran out of borrowed kids:lmao: Take me, promise I will act as a kid.

One of my coworkers offered to pay for me to take her granddaughter. :lmao:

Now I'm just waiting for my great-nephew to be old enough.

I took my goddaughter for her 9th birthday in January 2008 - and now I'm taking her little brother, and she's insanely jealous (even though she already had a visit). She's trying to squeeze me for another trip - but her Mommy is going with me next! Then it's my turn to be a kid! :rotfl2:

The Adventurer's Club was still open for my friends first trip. He liked it so much we had to go back several times. He still talks about that the most!

The Hoop De Doo was one of his favorites too.

I didn't tell him where we were staying the first night there, you should have seen how big his eyes got when we pulled up to the Wilderness Lodge.:yay:
Had one night there and was upgraded to Club Level, free drinks and food all night, he couldn't believe it!:woohoo:

Have fun on your big kids trip, OP!:dance3:

hai i need to knoe the best touring place for my wedding day.please suggest me a nice place

We're staying at POFQ - I just heard about Bob over at Riverside. He sounds like fun. Another thing to check out.

Though still not Adventurer's Club.

One nice thing about just ACTING like kids instead of actually BEING kids is that interesting drinks with glow-cubes can be involved. The Grand Marnier slushy as Epcot is one of the best things I've ever tasted.

Is it possible to do Kim Possible with the Kimunicator in one hand and a Grand Marnier slushy in the other?

Hmmm....get a drink, solve a new puzzle. Sounds like a plan. Though it may add a whole new level of difficulty to the game.

me too, me too!

I've been known to skip along the pathways hand in hand with my dd, get my face painted, hug the characters, climb in the nets in the HISTK playground, and my hands are always up on roller coasters. :yay:

Remember those commercials for Orlando, where the parent turns into a kid and they show them doing all kinds of fun things? Then they walk by a window or something and the reflection shows that one of the kids is really an adult? I LOVE those commercials. That is SO me!! ;)

Sounds like you will have a great trip, OP! How nice to have friend who shares your silliness! Have a blast!

definitely NOT too much - omg, that would be so much fun!! I'm planning on tea at the GF by myself on our next trip because no one else will do it with me. You realize, if you dress up, people will think you're characters and ask for your autographs?!

Is there an age limit for BBB at the Castle?! I know girls have to be at least aged 3, but I'm not sure I've ever seen a maximum age! can you imagine their faces when you showed up?!?! :rotfl2:

I love to ride all the "traditionally little kid rides"-actually I'm just a big coward for most of the adult, thrill rides! My favorite is Cinderella's Golden Carousel, but I also love Dumbo, Goofy's Barnstormer, Triceratop Spin, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, you get the idea. DH doesn't like to do those, so that's a big reason why I go solo once a year-to ride these rides as much as possible.

If someone asked me for my autograph, that would be the highlight of my trip. Actually, the highlight of ALL my trips!!! :yay:

I've heard of moms doing BBB with their daughters. When I took my goddaughter in (for her 9th birthday) the FGiT saw that it was my birthday too (yes, we share a birthday...just slightly different years) and sprinkled fairy dust in my hair.

But I think we're going to do Pirate League. And then go to the MNSSHP as Pirate Wenches. Or just female pirates. It's more than 10 months away, and we're already talking about costumes.

And hats for our tea.

Actually, we have it pencilled in for Wednesday, September 29, 2010 - around 3-ish, if anyone wants to put on a big, frilly hat and lace gloves and join us. The more ladies (or gentlemen) the better. If anyone's just going to happen to be there. :cool1:

Why, Oh Why, Didn't I plan my trip for September. Oh, Yeah, those two mini-me who have school. Phooey! You sound like an absolute blast to hang with... :worship: You are so doing a trip report for this. I can't wait to read the whole thing...:surfweb:

My friend has two adult children (almost 24, and 22), and two younger children from her second marriage (my godchildren - 7 & 10 now...they'll be 8 & 11 by then). I took her 10 year old daughter for her 9th birthday (January, 2008) and her son is going with me four weeks from Saturday. :yay: So her mini-mes have gone. Now it's her turn (she hasn't been on a vacation since her FIRST honeymoon more than 25 years ago). She's already setting up her children's care with her husband (who's had plenty of golfing trips with his buddy - much shorter than this, of course, but more of them), her adult daughter & various relatives (everyone's cool with this - even her kids).

So there you go! Leave the mini-mes home and join the insanity! :cheer2: The more the merrier!

My husband occasionally borrows my nephew as his Disney buddy, but that's hard to do since our family is back in IL and we live in FL. Therefore, most of the time it's just the two of us running around and being the "kids" ourselves. My motto is "It's never too late to have a happy childhood"...that's what WDW is all about!

Well, if the Powder Springs, GA location to the left, and Brutus Buckeye in the Avatar doesn't give a hint, I'm in Georgia and my family, my friend & her family are all in Ohio. My friend is flying down with her little boy to drop him off next month.

It's great that you have your husband to be a kid with - and you don't have to ship companions in. :rotfl:

Don't get me wrong - I've made new friends, and have even gone to WDW with some of them. We had a nice, grown up time. It's just not the same. Maybe it had something to do with friends you make when you're a teenager. I don't know.

For some "adult" fun, book a tour! I recommend the Family Magic Tour at MK. I've done this with all kids in my group and with all adults. Very fun both ways. As an added bonus, you get to save the Magic Kingdom!
