Which Adults Really Get Into the FUN?

I can't wait to take my grandchildren so I can act a little more childish without my teenagers rolling their eyes at me. I told them one time that I wanted to go to the BBB and dress up like Tinkerbell (1/4 serious) and I thought they might disown me on the spot. I told them that I was small enough (only 5 feet tall if I'm stretching) to fit in with the kids so what difference did it make?? Oh well. I wouldn't do it anyway. I'd only do that if I could actually be her for the fireworks show one evening!!

You just need someone to share your insanity - an enabler. Kids are such a downer. Teens think they're so cool, and their parents are buzz kills. If they only realized how often they get in the way of our fun. Kids are great when they're little, but somewhere around 12 or 13, something goes horribly wrong. And it takes DECADES before they're any fun again. :rotfl2:

Hmmm...makes me sad to remember Adventurer's Club! Like an old friend...why oh why.... ?!?!?!?!

ANyway ...you guys have a WONDERFUL time..I'm having a blast just reading about it...!!!!

I've read on here about a piano bar at the Boardwalk that I would want to try....

I think BBB sounds like a wonderful idea....I would do it too !....and I'm 44....

(I"m actually just a tad bit jealous when I see the little girls with their glitter, etc)

Have a magical visit!

Mary

I would *SO* do BBB!! OMGosh I don't know which princess I'd want to be... or Tink! Or Alice! Oh the choices!

I'm glad DH is as big of a kid as I am, because other people would look at me like I was nutso. I try really hard to act like an adult, I really do! I get crazy looks from other moms when I actively play with DD. :confused3 LOL, she doesn't know how truly dorky I am yet!

One nice thing about just ACTING like kids instead of actually BEING kids is that interesting drinks with glow-cubes can be involved. The Grand Marnier slushy as Epcot is one of the best things I've ever tasted.

Is it possible to do Kim Possible with the Kimunicator in one hand and a Grand Marnier slushy in the other?

Hmmm....get a drink, solve a new puzzle. Sounds like a plan. Though it may add a whole new level of difficulty to the game.

Hahaha... YES, it's totally possible! It's definintely fun, do it! (And yes, they are the most delicious things. EVER.)

does this count as letting loose without the kids?????

I'm sorry. Didn't you adults get your handbooks on proper etiquette when entering Disney?

"One must act according to the optimum age: 9 years old"

Thank goodness I only travel to the World with my dad. He always knows how to abide by the rules:

I just get that from my sibs when I happily play endless hours of Wii tournaments and Battleship with my nieces and nephews. What's the point of being grown up if you can't act childish sometimes?

Withacy, you're going into this with just the right spirit. And end of September/beginning of October is a perfect time to go.

Food & Wine opens last weeked in September (lots and LOTS of goodies to be had at EPCOT), Magic Kingdom is transformed into a Fall Festival, weather is perfect for pools (waterslides anyone, or long soaks in the jacuzzi?).

Definitely plan on attending that MNSSHP. Go in at 4pm in your costumes. Ignore all the odd looks you may get at first. The gawkers will turn green with envy they didn't think of wearing costumes too. (Happens to us all the time.)

I don renaissance caps the entire time I'm in Disney. I have a collection of the things from the local Renfest in various colors, each with a big poofy black feather. Use to wear it just for the high tea but now it is my signature look. Gotta keep up with my dad's hair.)

Ignore any of the comments you get at home. Teens and adults are boring in real life. Get them to Disney and they become fun again.

We visited the world last week and my sister did BBB with my 6 year old niece. The FGMiT was great, she was also from NJ and a lot of fun. We all laughed a lot and had a great time. She had strangers taking her pic afterwards and even had another adult begging her to sell her sash to her. LOL One woman stopped her in Planet Hollywood to ask what package she had gotten (Diva Princess) and said she was going later in the week with her own daughter.

So definitely consider doing BBB!!! I think you'd have a blast!!

OK, this is inpiring! All these other crazy "adults".

LOVE the pictures! I guess I'll have to get a picture of my friend & myself in our tea-party finery. That gives me 10 months to figure out how to post it here. :confused3

Our plan for the MNSSHP is to get to the park in our pirate costumes around 4 on our arrival day (like I could wait?!?!?). Go do the Pirate League. Go to dinner at Crystal Palace (my own personal tradition) and then enjoy the party!!! :cool1:

i really love all of your ideas!!! :goodvibes i wish i could come with you!! :cheer2: you are going to have a blast! :wizard:

Arent we all kids when we go to Disney? My DH and I are so ready for our adults only trip next month! Just realxing, enjoying the resort and doing what we want to do! Being young at heart, and the most magical place on earth!
:cutie:

I think you all have practically talked me into BBB!

:rotfl:

princess: princess:

BBB for adults is great. DW had it done last year and loved being the Queen for a day. Go ahead and have fun. more then likely you will never see any of those people again:goodvibes

Your Dad is AWESOME!!! Great pictures!

I couldn't imagine my dad doing anything like that. Even when we were young. He hated - and still hates - amusement parks, crowds, and would get upset if we laughed too loud in public. I think his greatest fear would be people looking at us. Seriously.

So basically, if my father were there to witness this trip, I think he would be horrified. If I do it right. :rotfl2:

I'm going on my 3rd adults only trip this year.....dh and I went in February and I dragged him to character meet and greets. He laughed his way through them, but wouldn't get in the pictures, lol. I went with friends last month and had the BEST time being silly. We dressed up for MNSSHP, took silly pictures in Epcot and just in general brought out our inner children, lol.

DH and I leave again on Friday for a quick four day trip. Hoping to drag him into more things....although he is loosening up, so he may go along more willingly this time. :rotfl: If you can't NOT act your age at WDW, where can you? I think all the ideas sound great....I'm kicking around the idea of booking Pirates League for myself...hehehe. I'd totally do BBB...maybe next year with my daughter....or maybe I'll do Pirates League then. And I totally want to get my face painted...and go on all the fantasyland rides I can...lol. Have a great time! We'll be there with the kids sometime next September, just not 100% sure of the dates yet!

My DH got so sick of hearing people say this that he threatened to do a make your own T-shirt with Grumpy on it that said "I am NOT a child at Disney World! ... But I'm having a great time anyway."

Isn't the point of Disney that it appeals to everyone and you don't have to be a kid to get it?
