Delta Airlines Boeing 767-400 (764)

This is the plane I'm leaving MCO on, and I have to choose my seats. I don't want to sit over a wing...too scary for me, even though they say you feel less turbulence. I just don't want to have it right there in my face when I look out the window.

I checked seatguru, and from what I interpret from the drawing, the wings take up rows 18 to 31 on a 49 row plane. Is this possible? Can the wing be that wide?? If anyone can help with some info, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Yes. The 767-400 is fairly large plane ment taking lots of passengers on high yield routes, So you probably will have to sit towards the back or just sit in the middle of the plane and you wont really see it. I just dont understand why you are so scare of sitting over the wing verse anywhere else.

Matt, thanks for the help. Now to answer your question, I once sat over the wing and could see the wing vibrating. I knew it wasn't going to fall off, but it unsettling for this fearful flyer.
Thanks again.

You should actually be MORE concerned if you look out and see that the wing is NOT vibrating.

Just keep in mind that those wings are supposed to be shaking and jiggling!! That's what they are built for. It took my poor dd, now 12, several trips before I could convince her it was okay that the wings moved a bit!!

Having been told as a kid that the wings needed to flap in order for the airplane to stay in the air (kind of like a bird), I can say it doesn't seem to calm people down who haven't flown before. There tends to be panicked looks and more fingernails in the armrests.
