My family and I will be in Disney May 21-26th. I will be working a few of those days so my mom and son will be hanging out by the pool while I'm out. What resort in the $100 night range has a really great pool and play area for a 6 year old? We're looking for a pool that's not just big, but may also have slides and such.

Thank you!

HIFS should have completed remodeling of one of their pools by that date (you would want to confirm that with the resort). www.hifamilysuites.com They are adding slides.

I haven't stayed at this resort, The Caribe Royal. However, it looks nice, the pool looks really nice and it has a slide. I believe they often offer rates for under $100 a night.

Also, check www.hotelkingdom.com for great rates.

You definitely want the HIFS. The pool is terrific! Hey, if you want a FREE pizza party, send me a private message and I'll get you a coupon right away!

Enjoy!

you can get a moderate at WDW for $94 for those days - I would with WDW - especially since you are going to be gone - they can easily get to the parks without you using WDW transportation - also there is a bunch of stuff to do - some free - most not - but the boat ride to DD that is at PO is always a fun thing to do.

I agree with staying on site at a moderate. Maybe the Port Orleans and French Quarter. I am assuming they will not have access to a car while you are working. It would make it really easy for them to get around using their bus system. They could have lunch at Downtown Disney and stuff.

If you are looking for more budget rates, check out the Country Inn and Suites or Amerisuites at Calypso Cay. They have a small zero entry pool, a small waterslide, mini golf, free breakfast. They do not have a restaurant on site and I don't think there are any in walking distance, but we did have pizza delivered there. You could probably find rates between $60 and $80 a night.

If HIFS is in the budget, it is a very nice place for kids. They only thing that kept us from going back there was the lack of the slide. Now that they are planning on adding them, I am sure we will be back.

Liki Tiki Village has a small waterpark geared toward younger kids, and they have one and two bedroom condos. You can usually book the 1brs for $89 to $99 a night. They have not gotten good reviews on these boards, though. We have never been there, but the water park looks pretty cool in the pictures.
