Where's Bristol?

How far along is she? Maybe she's busy with the puking. I was a young mother too (22), and I was on bedrest for almost my entire pregnancy with hyperemesis.

Maybe she isn't crazy about being fodder for "news" stories, political pundits, and tacky SNL skits.

Maybe she doesn't want to answer endless questions and end up on the cover of all the tabloids every week while the American public goes over and over the fact that she's a teenage mother, how stupid she must be to have made that mistake (like they've never heard of a teenage mother before), and how she's going to cause millions of teenagers to get pregnant because of her terrible example (oh, and they'll be miserable and living in the gutter, while she lives it up since her family is well off and she won't have to parent anyway).

Maybe Jamie Lynn Spears sent her a few pointers and a warning...."Hide. Don't let anyone see you or take your picture. They might let you have a bit of peace if you just stay away."

Maybe she doesn't like to fly and she feels better staying at home.

It could be millions of things. It could be nothing.

I don't know where Palin's kids are, or McCain's kids, or for that matter, Obama's kids or Biden's kids, nor do I care one way or the other where they are. It makes a grand total of zero importance.

As for Bristol, after the press craziness about her a few weeks ago, I wouldn't want to be in the limelight either.

I don't think Palin is being attacked. The OP asked a reasonable question. He did not accused Palin of being a bad mother.

Personally I don't care that Bristol does not campaign with her mother and the other kids do. However, I do think that the McCain campaign moved her out of the picture as soon as they could ... both to protect her privacy and to keep her "out of sight, out of mind" of voters who may have a problem with her pregnancy. It's a win-win situation for the Palins and the McCain campaign. Bristol is allowed to get ready to be a young unwed mother (mostly) in peace and she is not "in the face" of the Republican conservative base who may have issues with her mother because of her pregnancy.

Again, curiousity if the adult daughter of a candidate is sublty expressing her opinion on the campaign.

It is not a novel concept. Every campaign explores what the adult children, not the little ones, have to say about their parents.

Track and Beau are brought up a lot in how they are serving their country, so obviously those adult children are an important part of the campaign.

And not once did I attack Palin as a mother. That is about the only thing I respect her for.

I am more curious if the campaign machine had anything to do with it, if Bristol is subtly expressing her opinions or if she just doesn't want to be there.

I respect her choices IF it is her choice.

But conversly, what if she wants to campaign for her mother but the campaign machine has said no?

seeing as how she's about 6 months pregnant, travelling all over the country day after day is not really in the best interest of Bristol from a health perspective.

She's got alot on her plate aside from the campaign, from a wedding to plan, baby preparations, etc. I don't think she should be expected to be everywhere her mother is, and with all the hatred that was thrown her way, I don't blame her if she just wants to stay out of the limelight. She's under enough stress physically, without having to deal with anything more.

I kinda get the feeling some of the people demanding to know why she's not following her mother around have no idea what it feels like to be 6 months pregnant....the LAST thing I want to do is be on my feet all day, travelling, not being able to sleep in my own bed, etc.

Let the girl have some peace already, sheesh!

Perhaps she's tired, feeling uncomfortable or sick. Those things can happen to anyone, regardless of age, while pregnant. I'd doubt it would be in her best interest to be traveling all over the country when she's due in a couple months.

I'm sure, though, if she were traveling all over the country, folks would have plenty to say about that, too.

As far as Palin and her family being attacked - maybe the OP on this thread hasn't "attacked" her but plenty of people here and in the media HAVE attacked her and its getting really rediculous.

Not so. Michelle has been out campaigning--trouble is, the media's completely fixated on the bailout crisis, so a lot of these stops (for both sides of the campaign) aren't being given the coverage they'd ordinarily have. Not that I disagree with the coverage because I do think it's more important at the moment!
