I just read that 2 of Biden's grandchildren are named Finnegan and Roberta Mabel. Maybe we need to have a thread about that like the many threads about Palin's children name. Really relevant to politics.

To be punished is to pay a penalty for something. If you don't think having a baby is the penalty for unprotected teenage sex you have another thing coming. I never had understood why the fuss over this statement. Penalty is a definition of punishment.

Every time this child needs something, she'll have to sacrifice that thing in exchange for what's best for her baby. Penalty.

Going to college (without a baby on her hip)
Going to parties
Buying a new outfit for herself at the mall (the babies needs come first)
Being at home when it’s too cold (you can't go hunting as often with that baby on your side)
Having the normalcy of making teenage and young adult mistakes (Welcome to the REAL WORLD - adulthood)

This is only a few of the many sacrifices a young teenage mother must make for her child. This is the penalty of having unprotected teenage sex. Her punishment. Many of you are trying to place the punishment with the baby. IMO, Obama was placing the responsibility not the baby. Levy might be there for her, or he might not, but she has to bare this responsibility. It's not pretty and it will be a while before its fun.

Seeing how Biden's family is never discussed (and he is his tickets equal to Palin) I looked it up. I had no idea he had 2 sons from the first marriage and a daughter from his current marriage. I don't think I have seen Biden on the news in weeks. I don't think I have even seen photos of his current family.

I feel sorry for the kid. I don't blame her for disappearing for whatever reason. I think her mother didn't put Bristol's best interest before her own but YMMV.

Her mother is running, not her.

If it is politics that is keeping her home, then that is a reflection on her mother and her positions that she is running on.

Chelsea was called some pretty ugly names, yet she did not let it force her into seclusion.

Jenna and Barbara had their drunken college escapades detailed in the press, yet it never stopped them from campaigning for their father.

When something is completely out of the ordinary for the situation, questions arise.

I am not quite buying the "they were mean to me" whine from Palin.

I already stated several times that I respect and support Bristol's choices if they are hers and hers alone. She is an adult and she has that right.

But, the party has made it a point to stand on a platform of acceptance because everybody makes mistakes (one I support) and abstinence only education in the schools.

So, if they are forcing Bristol to stay away because she might offend the conservative base, then that gets into politics.
