Where you live do they say Land, World, or just Disney?

From Alabama and we call WDW Disney and call Disneyland well Disneyland.

Down here in Florida most people I know just call it Disney.

Usually I hear disney, but every now and then they refer to disney world as disney land.

It's "Disney World" hereabouts, but just "Disney" within our family.

Here in NC most people call it Disney World although the older crowd and/or people from more western parts of the country still call WDW "Disneyland." When we lived in Oklahoma, everyone only seemed to consider Disneyland. They just flat out forgot about Disney World. I thought that it was strange because Disneyland isn't a whole lot closer to Oklahoma than WDW.

I'm also in Oregon, so we of course are like the rest of you Oregonians and hear World or Land.

My in-laws in Indiana just say Disney and it always confused me, but they have never been to Disneyland so I've just become accustomed to them meaning Disney World.

People here call it Disneyland...the only ones here who don't are the three of us who went. Even the rest of our family still calls it Disneyland!

Since many people know I love going to Disney, they talk about their trips. What I have found is that a lot of the time they will say DisneyWorld when they are specifically talking about Magic Kingdom.

For example: "On the first day, we went to EPCOT and rode SOARING(Usually they pronounce with a G) and at night we went to DisneyWorld and saw that fireworks show. " (Most of the time, they aren't aware that it is Wishes)

It is interesting to see how people can refer to the same things in a different way.

When we say Disney we mean Disney World. Here if you're going to California its Disneyland. Everyone we know knows exactly what I mean when I say we're going to Disney AGAIN!

I hear all. I don't think it has anything to do with region, just more of what the person associates with Disney and their knowledge level. Those who I know who go a lot refer to "The World" or "The Land".....people say Disneyland, Disneyworld, Disney, Mouse House, etc.

My husband (Florida native who never set foot in WDW as long as he lived there) used to call it "The Rat" until our family had such a fabulous time there last year. (We had a good time in 2003, but even better last year.) We had been talking about a trip in 2008, but I think we may move it up to 2007.

Disneyland is used most often which is usually proper since that's the more common destination from here, although I was puzzled by a neighbor who spent two days at WDW and then told me all about his trip to "Disneyland" and "Safari Land" (MK and AK).

I find that people who actually travel to the parks usually know how to refer to them properly. The ones who most often get it wrong are the people who never do Disney but are kind enough to ask how my trip to Disneyland was whenever I've been to Orlando.

I refer to WDW as Disney and DL as Disneyland. Though I have heard many say they are going to to Disney World. Most around here (the east coast) go to WDW other then DL

Here in Northern Virginia, we all just say "Disney" for WDW and then if someone asks which one, then Walt Disney World. For CA, we say Disneyland.

For us it's Disney for the World and California for Land.

For most people when we mention going to Disney they will ask Florida or California. The Disneyland, Disney World doesn't actually come up.

It must be an Oregonian cultural thing! To our Disney friends we say Disneyland or Disney World and our non-Disney friends (sadly we do have such a thing) we usually have to say we're going to Florida or going to California. Either way they always seem to know that we are going to a Disney park.

With the deals that SW puts out it is sometimes cheaper for us to go to Disney World. While we will always consider Disneyland our "home park" we have probably been to Disney World just as often. So, we never refer to any park as just "Disney", most people would ask "which one?"
