We are planning an October trip and don't know if we should stay at:

Beach Club Villas (never stayed there)
Boardwalk Villas
Old Key West

We are going for 10 days, DH, me and DS, 7.

What do you suggest?

Thank you in advance....

You can't go wrong with any of the three resorts. Why not stay in the one that you haven't stayed in yet? (BCV) You can use SOB and walk to EPCOT and MGM.

RLevy29....I'm hoping you meant SAB at the Beach Club! :p

Laurajean1014 ....This is always a tough question. What do you guys like to do? Which park do you like best? Do you like a laid back resort or a more active one? What amenities are important to you? Will you have a car?

In my opinion, all the DVC resorts are first class accommodations. So where to stay is simply a matter of personal taste. If you honestly, truly don't care where you stay, then OKW will use the fewest points during your stay.

Good luck...I know you won't make a bad choice because there is one! :)

I'd either go for the BCV because you've never stayed there or even a split stay between the BCV and OKW, only because OKW has a quieter atmosphere than BCV. You may want to get away from the Disney "hustle & bustle".

JMO :p

and one note...

if you mean THIS October, and you are looking at dates after the Food & Wine Fest has started (approximately 10/15 thru 11/10), I'd hustle. Boardwalk area resorts tend to fill up very fast for this event.

Of those three, my wife and I like Beach Club Villas the best. My kids just love going to WDW and don't mind which DVC resort we go to! You didn't mention the Villas at Wilderness Lodge - have you already ruled it out? It is one of my favorites, and also feels somewhat away from the hustle and bustle, despite it's proximity to the Magic Kingdom. We were there during the cold (for Florida ;) ) weather in January, and that really added to it's atmosphere (rocking chairs in front of the fire etc)...

Having said that, I agree with the other posters - I like them all!

Mike

Thank you for your replies and recommendations.

I ruled out Wilderness Villas because the whole resort drives me crazy. It's too sprawled out for me. We've stayed at FW Cabins and the Lodge. The buses drove me crazy, and the boats took forever to get.

I think we will book BCV or split it in two BCV and OKW.

Thank you very much for your help.......

I think you just answered your own question. There must be something about a "bus stop" that makes people (o.k. me) impatient. We just came back from OKW and I never drove so much. We actually left the Bus stop and took the car one day. The wait for the boat never seems bad and somehow the bus at least at BWV (I'll be at BCV for the first time this summer) with only one resort stop went quickly.

So..I would go with BCV for something new or BWV for tried and true!

Yes.

I figured out what I love about each resort.

OKW is quite and therefore I am willing to wait for buses because I am in the relaxed mode. The pontoon boats you know you'll have a wait if more than 10 are waiting.

Boardwalk and BCV - perfect places. You have three ways to get to two parks quickly. I would walk or take the boat!

I'm looking forward to staying at BCV - does any one have a preferance room (studio or 1 bed)?

Thanks, L
