Okay - we are planning to return to the world and I am trying to decide where to stay. The options are: Port Orleans Riverside, Old Key West, or Saratoga Springs... where would you go? Looking forward to all your suggestions! Also, we are going in October - how is the weather likely to be? Previously we have only visited in July? :confused3

Three great resorts :thumbsup2

The biggest plus/minus factors for each from our family's point of view:

POR + great food court; good resort store; lovely resort ambience; boat to DTD; carriage rides; lovely landscaping
- no lifts, but only two levels

OKW + large rooms with balcony; fridge, toaster and microwave make it easy to prepare some in-room breakfasts and snacks if that's what you want; store sells some grocery supplies; boat to DTD; lovely landscaping; laid-back feel
- dense foliage may obscure any balcony view; some rooms quite far from main building; limited fast-food/cs meals; no lifts in most buildings, even those with four levels - although Bell Services will always help with luggage :)

SSR + balconies on all rooms; rooms with fridge,toaster and microwave make it easy to prepare some in-room breakfasts and snacks if that's what you want; store sells some grocery supplies; easy walk to DTD (with easy connection to buses to other resorts);
- some rooms quite far from main building; landscaping more open and less mature than the other two resorts

Another factor may be (depending on your party size) that SSR has one queen bed and a sofa bed, so you'll have a small sitting area if you don't need the second bed made up.

I'm sure there are more but, basically, it's down to personal preference, and what suits our family may not suit yours so well :)

I have stayed at SSR 2x and LOVED it, these 3 resorts have always been on my list. POR is cheaper than the Villa resorts, all 3 hve the boat to DTD and all 3 are goergous:)

Agree with the others.3 great resorts.Stayed at POR 9very pretty resort with nice rooms.Great variety of food and can always go over to french quarter to use there facilities which we didnt discover till the day we left:surfweb: Found the pool better and different food selection.
OKW -lovely resort big rooms and 2 queen beds. Slightly more up market than POR but larger layout.Loved the pool here.Never seemed busy. Try and request a room near hospitality house as it is very spread out. We had building 25. 5 min walk to main area but nice and quiet.
SSR-Staying here this year for 5 nights . Done due to free DDP and like to stay at new places. Booked a studio but wondering whether to book a 1 bedroom for the extra. Great location and I gather you can walk to DTD from here.
personal choice and depends on if loosing a double bed for a sofabed (ssr) is a compromise. Out of OKW and POR I would def choose OKW. Why? A lot quieter.

Also just to note that if you go for SSR or OKW and they are available for your dates, the current free Disney Dining offer would give you the DDP (with one Table Service Meal per night) as opposed to Quick Service Dining Plan at POR.

Not sure if the food would be a factor in your decision - it certainly was on ours when we booked OKW popcorn::

I've stayed at POR and SSR - out of those 2 I would definitely pick POR. SSR was a real let down for us, the CMs were not pleasant at all and the food available at the resort was very limited and took forever to be prepared.

We stayed at POR last month and there was definitely a lift in our block (Acadian House) :goodvibes

A really nice resort, would stay there again :)

Oops - sorry for misleading info! :upsidedow It's a while since we stayed there, so my memory must be playing tricks!

my memory must be playing tricks!

It's because we have so many lovely holiday memories to remember ;)

I was only certain because DD3 had to be the one who pressed the button every time we used the lift! :)

The mansions which are 3 floors have lifts, however the buildings in AB which have only 2 floors do not so you are both correct.
