YC/BC, Swan/Dolphin, and BW have a great location, and of those, I'd probably pick either the Yacht or Beach Club. Great theming but a little distance from the Boardwalk nightlife. Not only that, but probably a great view of the Boardwalk at night.

But I voted for the Wilderness Lodge, because it's such a cool looking resort!! :)

BC - Just let me say in 2 words why an 11 year old might love BC

STORMALONG BAY! :smooth:

Seriously - We stayed at the BC when Max was 12 & he loved SB - We could have spent the entire trip just in the pool. But, to make it even better, we had our razors & went scootering around the Lake. He loved the Game Room & Beaches & Cream. He could walk in & out of Epcot alone (with a 2-way radio) ESPN across the way at BW has another game room... MGM was a quick boat trip for RnR & ToT - Oh, last, but certainly not least - Breathless Bursts - An overlooked attraction, but not to be missed....

Boardwalk, there is so much going on there. Of course I may be biased because we are DVC members and that is our home resort. We are leaving in 16 hrs for BCV (we have an add on there).

Beauty, if you need anything from down there please pm me asap. I would be happy to pick up any info or brochures for you and send them to you. We will be there from 11/1-11/9. We leave at 1am on Fri. morning and are driving straight through.

That was a tough one! But I voted for AKL. WL was a very close second.

AKL is so magical, I'd love to stay there with a savannah view. It has one of our favorite restaurants (Jiko's), and we love the atmosphere. Even the smell of the wood burning. :) It would be a nice place to come home to.

Wilderness Lodge is a close second because of its proximity to the Magic Kingdom in addition to its magic. :)

We typically stay at the Swan/Dolphin, though, because of the easy walking distance to Epcot or MGM, and because it's been less expensive (gov't rate) the past few times we've priced trips.

I picked the Polynesian. My son is 11 and that's his favorite. Second choice would be Boardwalk. He loves Seashore Sweets for ice cream and having a little freedom to wander around there.

We (DD 11 & I) would choose AKL! It was worth the extra $. Reasons? Boma - the best food anywhere, animals, atmosphere, gift shop - with its selection & the artisans, the CMs - always nice on property but these have stories to share which add to the atmosphere... We love that it's so different from anything else. It's isolation from the rest of WDW adds to the feeling of "coming home" after a day at the parks.

I voted Beach Club -- to me, it seems one of the most kid-friendly of the resorts listed (for the same reasons others mentioned -- Stormalong Bay, Beaches and Cream, etc.)

I picked the Poly. There is something magical about standing on the beach and looking at the castle at night. Really says Disney to me. Also the monorail is only a short ride to the MK, my fav park!! The new pool is nice, the restaurants are great, and you can go to the other monorail resorts quickly for a meal, shopping, etc. Good Luck to John Cole on his paper!!!

If we can ever make it to WDW we'd like to stay at Wilderness Lodge. Love the woodsy feel to it that I've seen in pics. Ultimately DH and I would also like to live in a log home as well. :D Someday.....Someday......:D :D
